And you still cannot go up more than 256 blocks height, right?
Console version doesn't even have infinite chunks. It's 864 x 864
HELL NO HOW AM I GOING TO PLAY THIS SHIT WITHOUT FULL HD?
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
kids... millions of them... all mingebags.
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
It's this generation's equivalent of Lego.
Who the hell would buy this? If you are going to buy Minecraft, get the PC version. That alone grants you access to an extensive amount of mods for the game. It's even more portable than the portable versions of the game (use a laptop to play it on the go). God I envy Mojang. The money they make for doing the bare minimum is like the perfect life.

Whenever I play, it eats my memory faster than any other program I've ever used (including the likes of Battlefield 3 or Photoshop). The PS3 version is a nice way to be able to enjoy the game without it turning into a slideshow. Also, split screen multiplayer is an incredibly easy way to play the game with my friends and family.
I already own Minecraft for PC but I might get it for the PS3 just so I have an interesting game to play that my friends enjoy also when they are over at my house.
It's this generation's equivalent of Lego.
That's actually a really good comparison.
It's this generation's equivalent of Lego.
In the 90s I made lego cocks. I still make cocks, but now they are virtual
It's this generation's equivalent of Lego.
[t]http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130720213725/lego/images/thumb/0/0a/LEGO_Minecraft_logo.svg/1280px-LEGO_Minecraft_logo.svg.png[/t] also it seems like everything with the name "Minecraft" sells millions.
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
Because despite the development process not being up to Facepunch's standards, it's still a fun game that opens a whole heap of opportunities for creating and exploring in a package that's difficult to get anywhere else
Console version doesn't even have infinite chunks. Also, split screen.
To be fair, the 360 has only 512MB of RAM and the PS3 has half that, and minecraft is a RAM hog as is anything made in java
The console versions are not Java, the 360 version was outsourced to a company that basically rewrote the game, I believe in C. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version is forked from that.
The console versions are not Java, the 360 version was outsourced to a company that basically rewrote the game, I believe in C. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version is forked from that.
Doesn't change the fact minecraft is a RAM hog
Doesn't change the fact minecraft is a RAM hog
Minecraft is a RAM hog. On a PC, it would take like 40% of a 1GB RAM.
Because despite the development process not being up to Facepunch's standards, it's still a fun game that opens a whole heap of opportunities for creating and exploring in a package that's difficult to get anywhere else
I get that it's fun but the sales figures are absolutely fucking ridiculous. I played the game back when it was in the browser only stage (early 2010) and I just never imagined it would be a game on practically every platform and sell dozens of millions of copies. It's just baffling is all for a game that's so simple.
I bought it for my eight year old cousin on the Playstation 3 because he had been raving about how much he loved it and wished he had it. I watched him turn it on for the first time, play it for ten minutes, and then throw the controller on the ground and scream, "This game sucks! I hate it! I can't think of anything to build! It's such a rip-off of Call of Duty Ghosts! (???)" Lil' shithead.
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
Whenever I'm at a restaurant I always see kids aged maybe 3-6 playing Minecraft on tablets, many of the sales are definitely by parents for their kids.
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
Same reason as with GMod. Both are playgrounds, and you know how kids love playgrounds. You know, ones with sand and shit.
Why does minecraft sell so well I'm not following
Because you can put in shitloads of time, as you can do whatever you want in the game.
