Hi i have a problem in windows 7 when i rename a folder or file or name a newly created folder or file on my desktop, it sometimes randomly renames other files on my desktop. i just noticed this happening a few days ago and its getting really annoying, please help.
What does it rename them to?
Scan with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Or did you alaready scan your PC?

it renames them to the same name as i renamed the original thing, the original has (1) at the end and the others have (2) and so forth at the end

Do you have the original Win7 disc? Try windows repair or whatever? Because it looks more like a registry problem (For me, I am not a specialist)

It does that when the file names are the same. By any chance are they?
It also does that when you select multiple files and hit rename. I think that is what is happening. Make sure you aren't selecting multiple files?
