• Man to run length of Britain with fridge on back
A man who has raised thousands of pounds for charity by running around the country with a fridge on his back is set for his biggest challenge to date. Tony Phoenix-Morrison, or 'Tony the Fridge' as he is known, is aiming to run from John O’Groats to Land’s End with the 42kg (93lb) monstrosity on his back in just 40 days. That means 1,053 miles, or just over the length of a marathon each day. For 40 days. WITH A FRIDGE ON HIS BACK, with all the proceeds going to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. Tony has raised over £36,000 for the cancer charity already through his fridge-running exploits, and starts his voyage on Saturday.
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/man-run-length-britain-fridge-back-131658848.html
Man, it's going to hard to carry that fridge on his back while trying not to be weighed down by his gigantic balls of steel
He's gonna have spinal disk problems when he gets older.
Imagine if he trips
At least he has a place to store all his drinks for the run.
Imagine if he trips
Would be chilling to watch
the crate says smeg smegmamamamama
Look at that calf muscle in the photo. DAAAAAAAYUM
I kept reading that as "fringe", like a leather jacket with fringe, and was wondering why the fuck that would be news.
Just run next to him and grab a drink when he doesn't notice.
Guy runs length of Britain with smeg on his back... heh
what a smeghead
Britain... is your refrigerator running?
Came into this thread expecting a full-size, ~200lb fridge, not one of those mini ones :v Its neat and all, but it should say somewhere that its one of the small ones
Came into this thread expecting a full-size, ~200lb fridge, not one of those mini ones :v Its neat and all, but it should say somewhere that its one of the small ones
is that even possible for prolonged periods of time, considering how much they weigh (a shitton)
His knees and back are going to be so fucked up, it doesn't even look like hes taped anything for support
Christ, his calf muscles are like fucking tree trunks
I wonder if I should do a charity run
There are some fairly significant differences between your calf and his calf. Most notably, the calf in that photo isn't supporting half of a fridge.
WHERE ARE YOUR PANTS
sport shorts
There are some fairly significant differences between your calf and his calf. Edit: Also, "Tony the Fridge" is gonna have some major back problems if he isn't extremely careful.
Of course, but the fridge is only 93lb. More of an endurance than flat strength test.
26 miles into your first day, the words "only 93lbs" will not even be in your vocabulary.
26 miles into your first day, the words "only 93lbs" will not even be in your vocabulary.
I even said that it's an endurance test, not raw strength. you're not honestly going to say it would be difficult to stand up with a 93lb backpack?
This guy is just really my loyal servant and he carries a fridge on his back so he can deliver an ice cold beer to me where ever I may be in the country.
I even said that it's an endurance test, not raw strength. you're not honestly going to say it would be difficult to stand up with a 93lb backpack?
I'm honestly going to say that running 26 miles every day for 40 days is going to be a shitload harder if you have to support an extra 100lbs. [editline]3rd August 2013[/editline] And that terrifying meat lump you posted earlier is not going to help you

[editline]3rd August 2013[/editline] And that terrifying meat lump you posted earlier is not going to help you
That's exact what I was saying though, maybe I'm wording it poorly. I was saying that just plain supporting the fridge is easy, the grueling and awful part of his challenge comes with the actual running.
I can't imagine him completing this.
