Fuck man, I would have loved to play that. Reminds me a little of the Ultramarines books in how the story goes.
Damn shame.
Damn I really liked playing that game, I was annoyed at the cliff hangar, even more annoyed that a second and possible third game for the story was planned.
I wish they used a more interesting chapter. Space Smurfs are lame.
At least better than the Blood Ravens.
At least better than the Blood Ravens.
Not as good as the Crimson Fists. :v:
In fact, forget the Space Marines, lets get some Imperial Guard up in this
What I would give for a game about them. Any game where I could drive a Baneblade.
I wish they used a more interesting chapter. Space Smurfs are lame.
Considering they wanted the game to appeal to a general audience and not just warhammer fans it makes sense seeing as the ultramarines are the most vanilla chapter.

Yeah I see why. I can't say it was a bad choice.

It would cool except half the shit in the 40k universe can kill guardsmen just by looking at them. Or do a firewarrior and have you gunning down chaos marines because fuck canon.

I'm not saying it needs to be a game where you play as a lone guardsman. I'd just like a game focusing on them. Some kind of strategy game would be cool. Or something vehicle-based.

It would be really cool playing a Space Marine squad among the Imperial Guard fighting over a planet with desolated lands and all kinds of chaos. I don't know if playing as the imperial guard itself would be actually that great for a game like Space Marine, considering that you mow down tons of enemies. Being an imperial guard killing everything would just be really annoying, because the imperial guard mostly stands for cannon fodder.
Hell, the Guard has people who are more badass than any Space Marine. Like Yarrick or Ciaphas Cain.
AUTOMERGE BROKEN!!!
Any game where I can see a baneblade from first person as it wrecks xenos is worth it in my book.
Do a game centered around like, Tanith First and Only or something. It'd be nice to show a company that didn't have a human-wave minded commissar.
At least better than the Blood Ravens.
Bloody Magpies are great, I'm sure they strapped the titan from Space Marine on their battle barge when they left.

It seems the creator doesn't know much about W40K. Titus being made Chapter Master for a new chapter does not make much sense, as new chapters aren't just made whenever they feel like it. New chapters are only made in groups called foundings, which need an order from the High Lords of Terra. Each founding takes years of planning. It doesn't sound like a good story, really.
The Space Marine director goes on to say that Titus would have returned with a new resolve in the trilogy's final act. Other Space Marines would rally around him for one climactic conflict, and he'd become the head of a new Space Marine Chapter.
Well thank fuck THQ went under so this travesty could not happen. There's having a slightly different take on the warhammer universe, but this just takes the piss.

Yeah that was pure lore rape, good thing it didn't happen.

It really reeks of massive Mary Sue-ism.
lol, it's the typical 'blargh the imperium and its forces aren't the shining heroes I thought they were...I know, I'm gonna make a character that just magically creates a new chapter/army of pure heroes who stands for truth justice and the humanistic noble way!'
But what if at the very end Titus shaves his head and takes the new name of Boreale. And thus a legend is born.
Story wise, Space Marine was pretty decent (though, tbh tons better than the story in Ultramarines, that was just contrite crap I honestly wouldnt have expected from Abnett, not to mention some of the ridiculousnes, especially with the chaplain character), if somewhat basic, and they did a pretty good job of having a female commander of the Imperial guard, without being all "oh hey guys look, a giirl!"
If the third one was made, we'd probably get one of Goto's transformer Multilaser Rhino/Land Raiders.

Which the ultramarines kinda already are, plus there's the whole thing of in Warhammer 40K there's no "good" guys, everyone is awful and evil in varying degrees.

He'd need to take a power hammer to the teeth to give him the appropriate lisp.

If theres one thing the warhammer universe has taught me, its that at some point your librarian/chaplain will turn to chaos.
You seriously can't trust those guys

A Ciaphas Cain 40K game would probably be pretty dope, though I'd imagine it having a few elements similar to the Discworld game, since Ciaphas Cain seems very much like the 40K equivalent of Rincewind, except not a psyker and handy with a chainsword.
If we ever get a Ciaphas Cain game, he should be voiced by Eric Idle, if he's still alive around that time.
Damn shame :<
Also Ultramarines much better the Blood Ravens, wish was a game focused more on Chaos doh .

By Imperial standards, you can't trust any psyker, well, except the Emprah, but since he's napping, trusting him is a moot point anyway.

Well, they're better than the Bloody Magpies ion terms of stealing stuff, but the thing about the Ultramarines is, they're the standard, so they end up kinda boring, especially compared to the more hardcore of the chapters like the Templars or the Wolves.
How to assault an enemy according to various chapters:
Ultramarines: "We'll do this by the book, blah blah blah"
Black Templars "Smite, smite smite"
Space Wolves: "FUCKING GET THEM LADS!"
This is the game that was a FPS?
I should really invest in buying that as soon as I can, all the other WH games never appealed to be but this was more

Third person, and it did a pretty decent job of feeling like a space marine while you played.
Which the ultramarines kinda already are, plus there's the whole thing of in Warhammer 40K there's no "good" guys, everyone is awful and evil in varying degrees.
Yeah, the Ultramarines tend to go overboard on the 'we are teh best chapter evar, every space marines wants to be us' nonsense. The Ultramarine captain Titus making his own chapter because other Space Marines just rally around him...for some reason doesn't really help the 'ultramarines are boring mary sues' image either.
I get that not everyone in the Imperium is a baby stomping, child eating facist Nazi but come on, I can't see why they felt the need to make a literal Superman jesus out of nowhere.
Third person, and it did a pretty decent job of feeling like a space marine while you played.
if the "Sticks" and "Stones" are more solid than GTA5's Punches then it sure as hell would be doing exactly that.
