Relaxing Weekend[/release]
[release]
Wauk Town Bridge
The intern from my office happened to be taking a photography class at the local community college, and had a final project to do. Her brother is a 'professional' underground graffiti artist, so she wanted to get some shots of him working.
A group of us ended up all going to Waukegan, IL (kind of a latin ghetto but still near nice areas) and finding an old bridge to climb under. From on top, it just looks like another section of road with guard rails, there's a cafe and a bar on it and a parking lot on the other side.
Sneaking down into the trees in the parking lot, you find yourself quite somewhere else.
Nearly everything (that actually looks properly done) down there is this guy's work, save for the obvious construction markings, and the gang tags scribbled everywhere. There is a construction marker that's been stood up in the open with a name tagged on it. The guy who tagged it is dead, and it's there to pay respects.
Everything has a warm cast, because quite frankly it was sweltering under the bridge, despite being near sunset. I didn't have my flash with me so I had to work with less than ideal conditions at high ISO with a wide aperture, and even then the shots underneath the bridge without sunlight needed quite a bit of tinkering in lightroom.

Looks good. I expect to see more 35mm from you. ;)
Halfway through my next roll, should be more presentable content to that one since I'm taking my time instead of pushing through a single weekend and taking multiple shots of stuff. That cat wasted 4 frames all by himself :argh:
holy moly those are nice.
What happened to that hella fine broad you were going to take portraits of?
Did I just miss it or something?
Dayum son that is a beautiful car.

Relaxing Weekend[/release]
The Gardens photo is pretty sexy.
(already told bakyte, but) just a note, there's a full gallery behind each picture I post here (except the flag one. Was just proud of that).
I think I might just turn this into a 52-style project, where I collect images from a week and make a gallery of it. Y/N?
I love the garden one
also, your site is amazing! did you do it yourself?
as much as I'd like to claim credit, it's wordpress + invictus theme. Took forever to find a proper theme that suits my needs, and I'm still trying to iron out the kinks in it to make things run smooth. Hopefully I'll be using it more and more often as time goes by.
The individual galleries are flash-based galleries done via Lightroom and a modified version of the free "Airtight SimpleViewer" gallery with tons more customizable options.

ah, that's a shame
it still looks brilliant nonetheless :buddy:
What font are you using for the titles of each picture?
Also, Holy shit. The "'70 Chevelle SS" was shot where I am living now!
I was on your website, "http://rocphotography.net" and apparently Catherine goes/went to my high school. :v:
Wisconsin represent! I reaaaly like the Gardens picture, the way the reflection on the water creates its own vignette, and how vivid the red is.
EDIT: Oh my god the Audi *nosebleed*...so...nice

I saw it here, "http://rocphotography.net/Galleries/Catherine/2011-4-15/" :v:
ahh, diggin' through the directories I see :v: ...I do have to figure out how to password-protect stuff for client galleries eventually.
Cat took most of those shots though, minus the ones of her of course. She used my camera for these ones and needed a quick upload to download. Had my 50mm 1.8 so the DOF is retardedly low

 dem barn kittens!
35 1.8 is damn sharp, find it a good purchase?
meh, normal price at a camera shop out in Madison since they're the only people left within ANY reasonable distance who have a selection of lenses I could dink around with that weren't just kit zooms, and I didn't want to wait forever to get through online shopping for just a handful of dollars saved, so here it is.
What font do you use for the titles?

Do you mean in his posts?
