http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-10748148 That's right, not physical, nuclear. And a "sacred war", too. Not quite sure how you have one of them in an athiest state, but fuck, Kay Jay's crazy enough. So, the question remains: will it happen or won't it? The exercises begin on the 25th of July local time.
North Korea says it will use its "nuclear deterrent" in response to joint US-South Korean military exercises this weekend. Pyongyang was ready to launch a "retaliatory sacred war", the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KINA) said, quoting defence officials. Washington and Seoul say the war games are to deter North Korean aggression. Tensions between the two Koreas have been high since the sinking of a South Korean warship in March. An international investigation said the ship was sunk by a North Korean torpedo, a claim strongly denied by Pyongyang. "All these war manoeuvres are nothing but outright provocations aimed to stifle the Democratic People's Republic of Korea [North Korea] by force of arms," KCNA reported the powerful National Defence Commission as saying. "The army and people of the DPRK will start a retaliatory sacred war of their own style based on nuclear deterrent any time necessary in order to counter the US imperialists and the South Korean puppet forces deliberately pushing the situation to the brink of a war." In response, the White House said it was not interested in a "war of words" with North Korea. State Department spokesman PJ Crowley said the US wanted "more constructive action and fewer provocative words" from Pyongyang. The North had already promised a physical response to the military exercises during an Asian regional security forum in Vietnam. North Korea's delegation spokesman at the Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean) Regional Forum (ARF) said the exercises were an example of 19th century "gunboat diplomacy". "It is a threat to the Korean peninsula and the region of Asia as a whole," he said. China warning The forum was dominated by the crisis between the two Koreas. The war games - which begin on Sunday - will involve the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, 20 other ships and submarines, 100 aircraft and 8,000 personnel. China has criticised the plans and warned against any action which might "exacerbate regional tensions". But Japan is sending four military observers, in an apparent endorsement of the drills. The US announced on Wednesday that it was to impose new sanctions on North Korea, aimed at halting nuclear proliferation and the import of luxury goods/
Its funny because its North Korea.
WE'RE GOING TO KILL THE WORLD but don't harm us at all pls
I feel that maybe we should start getting worried now. Even though they have bluffed everything else, maybe we should ready the anti-missile defenses. Just in-case.
Everything NK does: Oh yeah? Yeah! Oh yeah? Yeah! Oh yeah? Yeah! Ok.
I feel that maybe we should start getting worried now. Even though they have bluffed everything else, maybe we should ready the anti-missile defenses. Just in-case.
I'm sure that the US is well-aware of what NK is planning and prepares itself accordingly.
If North Korea ever does fire a nuke, all of Asia is going to go up in flames with conflict, with the US and China at the head of it.
Even though they will never do anything.
nothing will happen
If North Korea ever does fire a nuke, all of Asia is going to go up in flames with conflict, with the US and China at the head of it.
Why, it'll just crash land in the water.
Why, it'll just crash land in the water.
whether or not it crashs into the water due to anti missle defnse systems the point would still reamin THEY FIRED A FUCKING NUKE.
Oh look, North Korea is grasping for attention yet again.
I'm sure you and your six shitty nukes will bring the west to it's knees, nk.
They will drop the nukes from the sky with umbrellas with cute girls attached.
-snope-
I'm sure you and your six shitty nukes will bring the west to it's knees, nk.
You're stupid if you think you actually know the amount of nuclear warheads any country has.
NK is like that fat kid in the other class that keeps insulting you until he actually turns his insults into actions. Though, like I said, NK is like the fat kid so they are much much slower then everyone else. I think they will launch nukes in the year 2875
You're stupid if you think you actually know the amount of nuclear warheads any country has.
NK has, comparatively, jack shit for nukes. And terrible delivery systems.
NK has, comparatively, jack shit for nukes. And terrible delivery systems.
Umbrellas are fucking amazing.
NK has, comparatively, jack shit for nukes. And terrible delivery systems.
Is there a chance they can reach South Korea though?
You're stupid if you think you actually know the amount of nuclear warheads any country has.
"If a country doesn't have secrets... Then that country will cease to exist" - Unknown KGB agent. In my own oppinion if NK launches one nuke China, USA, and Russia will probably jump on Korea.
Is there a chance they can reach South Korea though?
I don't know. How fast can 3 kids push a missile out of a silo?
25th July 2010 RIP North Korea
Is there a chance they can reach South Korea though?
Yes. The general area is within range, Japan included. Europe/NA are pretty much safe though.
I'm sure you and your six shitty nukes will bring the west to it's knees, nk.
Did you just underestimate the power and influence of nukes? :wtc:
I'm sure any nuclear firing, even if it doesn't actually reach its targets, will be followed by soldiers invading along with heavy artillery bombardments that do actually work.
How does one have a "Sacred War" if one is an atheist state? That being said, even if one nuke is launched, there is a high likelihood of it turning into a full scale nuclear war. NK making threats on this stage is no laughing matter.
How does one have a "Sacred War" if one is an atheist state?
Kim Il-Sung is pretty much worshiped in NK.
That being said, even if one nuke is launched, there is a high likelihood of it turning into a full scale nuclear war.
No. There most likely wouldn't even be a retaliatory strike. Just war.
"If a country doesn't have secrets... Then that country will cease to exist" - Unknown KGB agent. In my own oppinion if NK launches one nuke China, USA, and Russia will probably jump on Korea.
Russia wouldn't invade shit, they have no intentions of having fucking wars right now seeing as their economy is slowly but surely clawing its way back to its superpower seat. China's economy is already in the shit and shows no signs of improvement, if China would go to war with anyone it would absolutely devastate its economy. Although the US -may- invade something if shit indeed hits fan. Though I highly doubt anything will happen.
Did you just underestimate the power and influence of nukes? :wtc:
I have complete confidence that western countermeasures could repel any attempted nuclear attack by North Korea.
