Eager Star Wars fans braved pouring rain and queued for more than 20 hours in the hope of getting a role in the next instalment of the successful science fiction films. Lucasfilm, which is owned by Disney, is seeking two actors to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII, which is being directed by JJ Abrams. It is holding a series of public casting sessions around the country. Producers are looking for a "street smart" girl in her late teens and a "smart capable" man in his late teens or early 20s. The first of the open auditions are taking place in Bristol and saw hopefuls travelling from miles around to get their chance of appearing in the famous films.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/10437950/Thousands-queue-for-Star-Wars-auditions.html I'm going along to the next one. I think it is really good of the directors to do this, especially because of the lack of chemistry some famous actors showed on-screen in the last 3.
I may not be a big Star Wars fan, but the opportunity to be in one of the films is ultimately one that is simply too good to pass up. They are such a major franchise and having your name attached to one in anyway would be an incredible boon for almost anyone. Unless you're young Anakin.
The male role is for a character called Thomas, who must be 19-23 years old
Sweet!
handsome, smart and athletic.
Shit.
What a descriptive and useful thread title.
I mean, hell, I hate being in front of a camera, I can't stand my appearance, I have basically no acting experience, and I'm shy towards everyone 98% of the time. But I'll still make a go of it if the opportunity to audition arises.
Apparently 2000 people showed up, only 1000 got seen and 75 got call backs. I'm going to the Manchester one and I bet I'm going to have to show up at about 5am to have a chance of getting seen.
I have a friend who had ten seconds on Battlestar Galactica.
Going to the one in Dublin hopefully, but shit I won't be arsed to stand in a queue for hours
My dream is to become a movie extra fuck speaking parts I wanna just be in the background
