• Is Connecticut one of the Swing States?: Trump say he plans big move in Connecticut.
That a Republican presidential candidate was spending a Saturday night and campaign resources addressing a crowd in Connecticut was surprising, given that a Republican presidential candidate has not won the state since 1988, a fact that Trump himself acknowledged. "You know, we are making a big move for the state of Connecticut, just so you understand," Trump said. "Normally that wouldn't happen because a Republican, in theory, doesn't win Connecticut." He reflected on the outcome of a loss in Connecticut, and in other swing states where recent polls have shown Clinton with an advantage over Trump. "Can you imagine how badly I'll feel if I spend all of that money, all of this energy, all of this time and lost?" Trump said. "I will never ever forgive the people of Connecticut. I will never forgive the people of Florida and Pennsylvania and Ohio, but I love them anyway. We'll see. I think we're gonna do very well." For the rest of the rally, Trump aired his grievances against the media, at one point, saying falsely that CNN had turned off its camera because he was criticizing the cable network.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-we-are-making-a-big-move-for-connecticut/ ...wat?

Yeah, he really cares for the electorate, doesn't he? :V

Or at least it should be, among anyone who has the capacity to feel shame.
So now he's resorted to guilt-tripping people to get them to vote for him. What a joke. Why do people support him still? And I like how his only concerns are that his money, energy and time would go to waste if he lost. Is he even concerned for the electorate and what they want?
He also said he was going to try to push hard in California. I almost hope he does, since it would literally just waste his time and resources on a state that would never vote for him anyway.

trump is wasting his money. he thinks that because our governor has low approval ratings he'll be able to sweep in and drum up support. problem is that the poor around here are too tolerant for him, and the wealthy are clinton's breed of wealthy. Trump's...brand... of patriotism doesn't really flow here. we're not the "usa usa usa usa" types. more the "hey we should probably pay taxes so our kids have good schools and roads, yknow?" types. our poor have great access to state support and our wealthy class is filled with members of the financial elite - our business is insurance. his rhetoric won't really work here. his only real chance in this state would be if there was a solid and serious push for universal healthcare. in such a circumstance the economy of Connecticut would be devastated, drastically affecting the wealth of residents and the taxable income of the State. but since Clinton isn't expressly pushing for universal healthcare in any serious way, Trump basically has nothing to offer any class of people in Connecticut. he's even gone as far as to actively fight business interests here. tried to fight the casinos here and dismantle what little tourism exists in the state. i'm pleased that we'll be able to anger him. hopefully he'll fuck off after 2016. [editline]14th August 2016[/editline] just to understand a sense of scale here: Mitt Romney, someone with a temperament much more fitting for residents of the state of Connecticut and former governor of a bordering state, lost to President Obama by 18 points. 58-40. that is near equivalent to Romney's lead over Obama in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Actually some of his supporters jumped ship saying he's too fucking crazy.
Someone should create a poll in GD or fast threads to gauge how support has shifted between the candidates over the past few months. I remember there was once a poll which showed a heap of people would write-in Bernie or vote Trump, more so than Hillary, but I wonder if that's changed.
That he's made it this far is a massive embarrassment to this country. Or at least it should be, among anyone who has the capacity to feel shame.
it's not too bad, only the largest minority of a fraction of your population made him the nominee. unlike, say, 52% of your population being certifiable cunts, for example.

I am reminded here of the statement that "Any headline that is a question can be answered with 'no'"
Glad to see that Donald Trump is really committed to ignoring reality in favor of saying whatever bullshit he wants to be true.

I was driving down Rt. 32 (which basically connects New London in the south of the state to massachussets for those who arent from connecticut) and I saw a huge lifted pick up (with CT plates) with a giant ass confederate flag painted on the hood :v: i see that stuff all the time in this part of the state. Though the rural and conservative portion of this state is not nearly enough to make Trump take the state lmao He's completely delusional

He sounds like a sore loser, and he hasn't even lost yet. There's no way anyone finds this kind of behavior appealing.

Helps point out who the assholes are though, so you know who to avoid.
He blames the people instead of taking a look at himself because his brain simply doesn't work in any other terms. He believes himself to be in the right by 'saying things like they are' but says insane shit like winning the election is his only path to heaven, or outright rubbish that Obama founded ISIS. His "policies" are either wishy washy nonsense with no clear direction, or so out of touch with reality it's clear whoever proposed them (Trump) has no grasp or concept of the things he says or proposes. He's nothing but a man baby who failed to grow up and comprehend the idea that his brand of populism is an embarrassment to his country and fellow countrymen, or at least the sane ones who used their common sense and those others who didn't fall for his rhetoric and cult of personality. You would legitimately have to not care one whit about what others think about you to support this creature Trump, who clearly wants the title for its own sake, and not because he's going to be a good President.

One of the funnier instances of this is earlier this year the museum I volunteer at has a civil war encampment/reenactment every may. This year we finally had some confederates, and during the second battle some guy was driving by in this rusty, beat up white pickup. He slowed down and shouted "THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN" and sped off. All the reenactors burst out laughing, it was hilarious.
