I know absolutely nothing about building a gaming computer, but I soon will have the money to do so.
I am selling my Gaming laptop and video camera to get the money, and all I need now is a list of parts [Newegg only, preferably] that I can get within that budget, allowing for a 17 inch wide-screen monitor.
I want to run Just Cause 2 on high, if possible, as well as Mafia II decently.
I already have a keyboard, mouse, and speakers.
Also, the desktop needs to have wireless functionality, due to the fact that I live in a old house with poor infrastructure.

Switch to a GTX460 1GB if you have the money

That's a pretty good build. Remove the wireless adapter if you don't need it, and some weaker PSU (you don't need 700W unless you go multi gpu), and you can easily afford a GTX460.
700W is good because you won't have to get a better PSU in the future for more demanding graphics cards like the 5870.
