• Hola Senior Bush: Jeb registered himself as Hispanic on voter form in 2009
There is little doubt that Jeb Bush possesses strong credentials for appealing to Hispanic voters. He speaks fluent Spanish. His wife, Columba Bush, was born in Mexico. For two years in his 20s, he lived in Venezuela, immersing himself in the country’s culture. Mr. Bush, a former Florida governor and likely presidential candidate, was born in Texas and hails from one of America’s most prominent political dynasties. But on at least one occasion, it appears he got carried away with his appeal to Spanish-speaking voters and claimed he actually was Hispanic. In a 2009 voter-registration application, obtained from the Miami-Dade County Elections Department, Mr. Bush marked Hispanic in the field labeled “race/ethnicity.” A Bush spokeswoman could offer no explanation for the characterization. However, Mr. Bush took to Twitter late on Monday morning to call the situation a mistake.
http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/04/06/jeb-bush-listed-himself-as-hispanic-on-voter-form/
What's with all the dirty immigrants trying to run for president?
My dad does this as well. Nobody ever looks at these ethnicity things, so he's alternately been British, Irish, Scotish, Roma and Afro-Russian.
WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Why are they asking your ethnicity on voter registration forms?
Why are they asking your ethnicity on voter registration forms?
for statistics?
Jeepers Jeb, wait until you get into office before doing silly things
Why is Hispanic considered a distinct ethnicity from "white" in America? This has never made sense to me.
Why is Hispanic considered a distinct ethnicity from "white" in America? This has never made sense to me.
Honestly it should probably be "Latino." That's what they really mean. But for some reason it's "Hispanic," even though if you're actually from Spain you're expected to put Caucasian.
Please no more bushes. I can't understand how he's considered as a serious candidate after his brother was one of the worst period presidents period ever period.
Please no more bushes.
While I don't support Jeb at all, he should not be discounted for his brother's incompetency in any way.
I don't see it as a matter of incompetency I see it as a matter of the Bush family being rich as fuck and having their interests in Oil Fields. I don't think that family has any business near the whitehouse. Conflict of interest, you might call it.
While I don't support Jeb at all, he should not be discounted for his brother's incompetency in any way.
The average voter gives zero shits.
Why is Hispanic considered a distinct ethnicity from "white" in America? This has never made sense to me.
It's a long and whacked out history based on awful science. Did you know that Irish people were once considered to be relatives to blacks and treated as such?
Why is Hispanic considered a distinct ethnicity from "white" in America? This has never made sense to me.
Its because people from Latin America have a radically different ethnic, racial, historical and cultural background than Americans generally classified as "white". For instance, to classify a 4th generation American of Scottish-British descent and a 2nd generation American who had ancestors that were a mix of 16th century Spanish (with Berber influences), West African slaves, and indigenous Guatamalan peoples both as "white" would be a foolish categorization that would entirely defeat the point of wanting to see statistical data on voting prevalence for difference ethnicities/races.
Why are they asking your ethnicity on voter registration forms?
For pointless metrics, the backbone of any bureaucracy.
My dad does this as well. He had helluva scholarships coming in

I don't think that family has any business near the whitehouse. Conflict of interest, you might call it.
It's a matter of principle that it is required that we let Jeb Bush run. It's part of the fundamental structure of our government that any natural born citizen has a chance to be president, even if they are part of a rising American Nobility.
I agree. I say we prevent Hillary and Jeb from getting past the primaries.
Hillary I feel different about, as she was only the First Lady but always seemed to be just as much of a President as Bill was. In my opinion, husband and wife should share the term limit, Hillary shouldn't be able to run because she already technically had two terms in office as the First Lady. If Hillary gets elected, it would be like Bill's 3rd term, although I know some people would like that. Just my two cents on the issue.
It's señor, not senior...

And I'm not saying we don't let him in, I'm saying who are the dumbasses who will vote for him? Those metrics let politicians know who to pander to.
Didn't stop people from adoring the Kennedys.
Yeah but the Kenedys didn't fuck up the US and half of the world in a kneejerk reaction.
I don't know man I would call "coming close" better than 1.2 million dead people in the wake of 9/11
Still a positive when the other could have resulted in a nuclear winter.
Still a positive when the other could have resulted in a nuclear winter.
Read that again please, you just said 1.2(actually it's 1.3) million dead people are better than the Kenedy government preventing nuclear winter.
I think it is fair to say that culturally he is Hispanic.
Didn't stop people from adoring the Kennedys.
The Kennedy Family is not like the Bush Family. The Kennedys were and still are one of the last Liberal Class political families championing social reforms for everything from poverty and welfare to education. Ted in his lifetime was behind Head Start, the federal cancer research program, the Refugee Act, Americans with Disabilities, and numerous minimum wage increase proposals. They were in their heyday the modern Roosevelts. And unlike the Bush Family, they never had a son who became deservedly criticized as one of the most incompetent presidents in American history. Did everybody here forget the 2000s and Bush's presidency, or is it just that most of you all were kids and didn't pay attention to what was going on? I've noticed lots of people have stopped criticizing him for some reason, and some are even apologetic towards him. How is it possible to forget the innumerable failings and blunders of that administration when you were alive to witness it? Holy fuck.

I was not worried about politics in the least.
