• How much could a I sell a backwards compatbile 80GB PS3 that won't accept discs?

I don't play my PS3 anymore so I was considering selling it but then I noticed the BD drive won't "suck in" the discs. 2 years ago my BD drive's laser broke so I replaced it myself, and it worked fine. Guess now the motor is broken since it doesn't spin I am so tired of fiddling with it and watching a bunch of youtube videos with different PS3 models that don't apply to me, I am just sick of Sony everything The laser still shines once when it turns on, so that's ok I guess. Remember, this PS3 can play PS2 games, so it's not worthless. model number ceche01 mg
Isn't the 60GB version the only one that is backwards compatible?
Isn't the 60GB version the only one that is backwards compatible?
no, there was an 80GB MGS pack that was b/c.

If the motor is repaired, I would definitely buy this off of you.just because of the backwards combatibility.

The only thing stopping me from buying a new motor is that I have no way of knowing 100% that it's the issue. And I will be very pissed if it spend the $$$ on it and it's not the part messing up. God damn these cheap Blu-Ray drives.
Capacity have nothing to do with it. It's all about the model number.
Well of course, but I thought the only backwards compatible one was the model with the 60GB harddrive. The launch model. I don't remember model names.
I believe the 60GB version was the only one that had backwards compatible PS2 games through hardware, and the 80GB and other versions did it through software emulation.
well it has the PS2's gpu removed, but the PS2's CPU was still kept. This resulted in slightly less titles being playable, but most of those have been playable through patches.
Needs AS5 applied immediately. :derp:
The EE+GS chip is not even covered by the heatsink. The only cooling it had was a lousy piece of heat conductive pad placed against the metal casing that sits on top of the board.

it's never had any issues for me...besides the BD drive
Between this and the anti-hacking/modding policy, I seriously hate Sony at this point.
Never had any BD issues with my 40GB PS3.
