I don't know where else to put this. It's not a technical woe, it's not a Windows problem or anything else.
Basically, the LCD screen on my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop has become... obliterated. I'm not sure exactly how it happened but it looks awful. There's a large spiderweb crack over the screen and the actual LCD is, of course, pulverized.
I understand this damage is irrepairable - but is there any way to recover anything from the rest of the laptop?
Run it headless?
Plug in a monitor-- there should be a DVI or VGA thing on the side for that.
Disconnect the monitor and take it off and turn the rest of it into some sort of compact PC or something.

Replace it, it will cost the fraction of a new laptop. For instructions hit up google, almost every laptop has LCD replacement instructions somewhere.
