Not sure how long this has been around the net, but fans of the series Friends is now available in HD. As far as I'm aware only Season 1 - 3 are available, the rest will soon be out. I've always been a fan of Friends and I was really hoping they would do this. Friends is no doubt the best sitcom I've watched in my life. Also one of the few series that have been able to remain good throughout 10 seasons.
Good to know, I guess. Never bothered checking the show out myself, always figured it was crap.
Nick at night also has Friends in HD, and it looks better than that one.
That does not look like HD...
That does not look like HD...
Yeah, it's not the best example. Not only is it only 720p it's also a compressed JPEG. But the resolution is HD. I think they have done a very good job and restoring it though, considering it was never recorded for HD production. The official release on BluRay will be full 1080p.
Not only is it only 720p it's also a compressed JPEG.
It's neither of those. It's the fact that it's simply blurry.
I like how the only thing HD in the second picture is the logo on the top right.
This may have interested me a few years back, but honestly I've watched friends to death already.
Friends is pretty good. It's not my favourite sitcom ever, but i'm always up for watching it. However I couldn't imagine myself ever buying a dvd of it.

I do think this is the best "classic" American sitcom (differentiating between shows like this and It's Always Sunny for example), but as far as situational comedy goes as a whole far from the best.
Resolution does not make it HD, the quality does. The term HD has been raped so bad.
HD does refer to resolution, 1080p means 1,920×1,080, and 720p means 1,280×720... Quality is much more of a rough idea
If you watch it on TV it actually does look like HD though. Just on a monitor with smaller pixels it looks that bad.
