Hi,
HWMonitor is reporting my motherboard temp to be 74*C
It is an AMD 790GX motherboard.
Is this a normal temp?
picture please

I googled TMPIN1 and read that it's motherboard temp.
[editline]01:40PM[/editline]
If the graphics card temps look a bit high, I'm playing TF2 :P
touch the northbridge chipset while the computer is on and see how hot it is, looks to me like a false reading
And does that reading change? Load up a game and play for a few minutes.
I can't touch the northbridge, it has a heatsink on it.
After a few minutes of TF2 it went to 77*C
yeah I mean touch the northbridge heatsink
It feels completely cold, not even warm.
probably just an error then
On my brand new PC? :(
Thanks for the help.
What the. I just checked too, it's the exact same :tinfoil:
HW monitor has alot of false reading on some boards like my P45 runs at 199C even though that would tend to melt my case
Faulty sensors is also a very common problem... So yeah, if the heatsink isn't hot, everything is ok.
My northbridge is showing as a constant 80 degrees, i don't want to touch it though
last time i touched something inside my case while it was running i burnt myself
