I have seen with mine own eyes many long and terrible wars. I have met brave men and good men whose deaths have weighed heavily upon my soul. Yet in all my many years I have never seen a sight as terrible as that great battle at the Gates of Athan. That horde of Chaos came on as a sea of blood that stretched from horizon to horizon without end. Over it hung a stink of death, a black cloud of evil which tainted the sky with its obscenity. I cannot think of it still without terror, and must endure a moment's panic to write even these few words. Even so, the Eldar did not flinch but stood their ground with a determination that exceeded human resolve as the strength of steel outmatches mortal flesh. And that was when I witnessed for the first and only time the strange secret of that race, seeing then what few humans have seen, a thing beyond human comprehension.

The hordes of Chaos march across to the Gates of Athan, while the Eldar stealthily lie in wait.

The forces of Chaos advance, two Marines and a heavy bolter fire towards the eldar. The Beserkers rush out of the cavern towards the sound of battle.

The Raptors take flight to engage the Eldar on the other side while the Terminator lord Fires at the Eldar with his Stormbolter.

The Farseer fires off a plasma bolt as one of the Eldar infantry behind leaps forward sword drawn. The Others behind let loose their rapid fire rifles into the horde before them.
Overhead the heavy plasma cannon fires off a round and the fire warrior fires along side. All others charge forward towards the sounds of battle.

Some berserks fall to the barrage of fire, the rest continue to charge the Eldar, close enough for them to hear the revving of there Chain Axes, the eldar that leaped out was ripped to shreds by the bolter fire.
The Heavy bolter marine is gunned down by the heavy plasma and weapons fire, his body explodes in a bloody mess and hitting a marine behind him, the rest head down the firing there bolters.
The Terminator lord takes a few hits, lucky for him his terminator armor is able to absorb most of the impact, but he is lightly wounded, He uses his teleportation systems to join the Raptors across the canyon.
Khorne Bezerkers don't have Chain Axes :colbert:

They have various close combat weapons, but I like chain axes more then there other ones.
Beserkers do have chain axes if I remember rightly......

The Eldar Farseer steps back as more guardians take positions just in front of the charging berserkers, the Farseer fires his plasma pistol along with the guardians to meet them as they crest the entrance.
Above the 2nd in command climbs onto the gun platform and flies into the space above the battle charging up for another blast over the marines.
The guardians on top fire volleys of plasma at the raptors descending upon them.

The lead Berserker is gunned down, the others throw his falling body out of the way, leaping towards the Eldar. The leading Berserker clashes with the first Eldar, sparks fly as his chainaxe collides with the blade, The following Berserker slams his chainaxe into the Guardians neck sending bits of armor, flesh and blood spewing everywhere as he brings the axe down the Gaurdians body. The final Berserker screams towards what seems like the Eldar farseer as he swings for him.
The Raptor with the melta is killed in flight, the rest decend upon the Eldar, one takes a swing at the Eldar in the air and the other makes ready to crush the heavy weapons one. The Terminator Lord appears to join the Raptors in battle.

The Berserker mad enough to engage the Farseer is stabbed through the chest and raised into the air triumphantly. The Farseer's first taste of blood this day. THe guardians behind fire through and around the dead body into the other charging enemies beyond. The guardian in front stops the chain-axe of the last berserker just in time for the plasma rounds from his comrades to penetrate his foes body, saving his life narrowly. The second was not so lucky and was ripped to shreds and now lies dead.
The gun platform fires another round at the chaos marines on the hillside as he tries to avoid enemy fire.
Above the guardians are engaged by the raptor team. They feel their rage descending upon them like a tidal wave of hatred. The lead wounded guardian fires off his weapon at the chaos lord before he is likely crushed by the enraged raptor above him. His comrade behind tries valiantly to kill or slow the raptor above and fires off everything he's got from his weapon, a strong beam of plasma begins to tear the raptor in two. The honored guardian who took flight was not quick enough to evade the chainsword and is unfortunately decapitated in flight, his blood begins to rain down.

The Raptor that is fired at dies before his body crushes the Eldar below him, The other continues his swing towards the Eldar below him as well. The Terminator lord's armor is able to withstand a hit or two but is punctured again, It is most likely anymore and he wont be able to continue.
The last Berserker fires his bolt pistol into the farseer, while the body of the berserker at the entrance falls forward.
The Havok squad aims its heavy weapons towards the cavern.
The Marines on the ledge fire at the heavy weapon, but one is hit by the plasma and explodes in a gory mess.
Also, the Marines in the crater reappear after somehow disappearing from before (my bad :v:)
