• North Korea closes only communication channel with US and gets real serious
SEOUL: North Korea said on Monday it had told the United States it will cut the only channel of communication between them, at the United Nations in New York, after Washington blacklisted leader Kim Jong Un last week for human rights abuses. All matters related to the United States, including the handling of U.S. citizens detained by Pyongyang, will be conducted under its "wartime law," its official KCNA news agency said. The move was the latest escalation of tension with the isolated nuclear-armed country, which earlier on Monday threatened a "physical response" after the United States and South Korea said they would deploy the THAAD missile defence system in South Korea. North Korea said last week it was planning its toughest response to what it deemed a U.S. "declaration of war" after Washington announced sanctions on Kim Jong Un. A U.S.-based North Korea monitoring project, 38 North, said on Monday that satellite images from July 7, a day after the sanctions announcement, showed a high level of activity at North Korea's nuclear test site, but it is unclear whether this was for maintenance or preparation for a fifth nuclear test. "As the United States will not accept our demand for the immediate withdrawal of the sanctions measure, we will be taking corresponding actions in steps," KCNA said on Monday. "As the first step, we have notified that the New York contact channel that has been the only existing channel of contact will be completely severed," it said. "The Republic will handle all matters arising between us and the United States from now on under our wartime laws, and the matters of Americans detained are no exception to this." U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby declined to comment specifically on the North Korean statement but said such rhetoric "obviously is not doing anything to ease tensions."
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asiapacific/north-korea-military/2946662.html So NORK threatens war over THAAD missile deployment, prepares for new nuclear tests, and closed only remaining comms with the US.
Id do the same if i was them, then again if i was the US id have invaded them instead of Iraq
fired missiles and accidentally blew up the remaining communication ports with the US* I can't believe NK actually blocked us. How rude. But that doesn't stop the US from finding ways to lurk, right?
is it time for the yearly NK hissy fit?
Whatever happened to that one guy that got caught stealing a poster for some frat? Was he ever rescued or is he still there and will probably stay there for a long time?
Id do the same if i was them, then again if i was the US id have invaded them instead of Iraq
this isn't how history works
the probability of the US invading NK would be the same probability of NK invading SK. Aka, very small because that would be complete suicide - and i'm sure the big boy himself knows that despite all his propaganda of "winning the war" or "not being afraid of the imperialistic devils" or some bullshit.

Stupid really, if there are any countries you don't fucking commit crimes, its North Korea. And he knew the rules before, I'm sure.
is it time for the yearly NK hissy fit?
it`s more like monthly hissy fit now
Id do the same if i was them, then again if i was the US id have invaded them instead of Iraq
iraq didn't have china backing them up
I'm super cereal guys for real this time~ Kim
iraq didn't have china backing them up
The most China would do is deploy troops along the Chinese / Korean border and send us some very angry letters and scold us in the UN, but they wouldn't fight us. They have nothing to gain from fighting us, and little to lose in North Korea.
Id do the same if i was them, then again if i was the US id have invaded them instead of Iraq
But Iraq = oil, US = After Money | US destroys Iraq = $$$
But Iraq = oil, US = After Money | US destroys Iraq = $$$
North Korea is believed to have Trillions of $ worth of rare metal resources.
iraq didn't have china backing them up
Neither does Korea now.
As always needs pointing out: Noone has any interest in a liberated North Korea. North Korea is harmless as it is, and no one wants the economic burden of getting them up to snuff with the rest of the world, so it's better for everyone except the North Korean people to just let status quo be status quo.
Question for anyone who might know: What "last form" of communication did North Korea have? Was it online, via phone, or an actual NK diplomat discussing things in the US? It mentions the "New York channel" in the article but doesn't really go into detail. Seems interesting.
North korea, best korea... buddy... You don't act like a dick to get sanctions taken off of you for acting like a dick. Thats not how you play nice in the sand pit. ffs.
I'm worried about the two Americans that won't be able to get back home now. Just thinking about the torture they probably are going through puts me at a loss of words.
Just having to eat their food everyday must be torture. Kimchi with everything.
Just having to eat their food everyday must be torture. Kimchi with everything.
kim jong chi with everything*
is it time for the yearly NK hissy fit?
they should just cancel that show it's just plain boring nowadays
pinch me when they say skyking 4 times
Well, it's all posturing and dick-waving, and North Korea's only showing off its dick because it's never seen it compared to that of a real military superpower. If they try anything, they'll be promptly and brutally chastised. They're no threat to anyone.
Just having to eat their food everyday must be torture. Kimchi with everything.
what food?
I'm worried about the two Americans that won't be able to get back home now. Just thinking about the torture they probably are going through puts me at a loss of words.
Something tells me they have to keep these two alive at any cost. NK taking Americans captive and then killing them, intentionally or not, could spark military action.
the NK situation will always be hilariously funny until it very suddenly isn't.

Why not help them? They deserve better then that.
Yes, but civilians are suffering and going through absolute torture in NK. Why not help them? They deserve better then that.
Of course. But politically and economically speaking, its extremely complicated. As the Iraq war showed, turning a country upside down to end an oppressive regime isn't exactly a walk in the park and can have unintended consequences. Even for the most powerful military in the world.
Yes, but civilians are suffering and going through absolute torture in NK. Why not help them? They deserve better then that.
What do you suggest? Perhaps Germany could take some of them?
Yes, but civilians are suffering and going through absolute torture in NK. Why not help them? They deserve better then that.
Because we don't care about them all that much; and we certainly don't a-million-dollars-per-person care. Yep, they deserve better. But they ain't gonna get it, it's not worth it to the rest of us. Simpler, easier, cheaper and probably more stable to just keep North Korea as North Korea.
