Its not, the Beta isn't very interesting. At least, so far.
Good upside is no hats are seen except the fezz and some promotional ones.
Probs get a free hat for being a beta tester.
I didn't even notice it until another forum member pointed it out

Installing it right now. The closer I am to vanilla TF2, the better it is.

I feel more anxious about this than i should.
valve continuing to ruin tf2

If you're looking for the TF2 Beta, it's been added to your game library on Steam.

Oh win.
completely vanilla tf2 1.0 with tc_hydro as the only map is all i want
Probably preparations to implement collectable gloves for ten bucks a pair.
Finally, I was waiting for this for so long :q:
valve continuing to ruin tf2
How? The only changes thus far are a much needed Natascha fix, the one that they're definitely going to use is a debuff that should have been in the game in the first place?
I want vanilla except with the spy able to regen cloak via ammo

Oh shut up.
So, they are resetting everything?
Sounds good, actually.

Nevermind im stupid and didnt read the blog post
Oh shut up.
It's actually pretty true. This tf2 is no way near the feeling I had when I played TFC or early TF2
All Primeval Warrior badges become vintage
Non-vintage ones are given to participants of this beta
:hurr:

I don't see the problem with natascha. It's not overpowered, just annoying.
They should just make it so it slows down less the far you are from the enemy.

Because back in 2007 it was something new, it's pretty normal to enjoy a game much more when it's something that you haven't seen before, happens with every game (Like the first time I played Half Life 2, for example)
Three Natascha variants:
-40% damage
-25% damage, -25% health
Spin-up/down time increased, slowdown-on-hit effect falls off over distance.
The last one is the most balanced one imo. It's a shame the Natascha is getting nerfed, I love her so much.
Although I do think it should be nerfed a bit.
this should be interesting.
I really, really want them to implement a vanilla mode. Until then I don't think I will play this game again.
need to add a 'turn hats off' option
need to add a 'turn hats off' option
and a 'turn class updates off'

Not really. TF2 had a really cool late 60s espionage atmosphere, which valve themselves took ages perfecting and then they fucked it up completely with all these shitty updates.
