Save me the "don't OC a laptop" and "man your computer sucks, buy a new one."
I am simply wondering if it is possible to Over-Clock my laptop (Core Duo I2 T7250) the BIO is locked like most Dell computers so I cannot do it from there. I was going to use SetFSB but I cannot identify the PLL. The motherboard's model is 0YW040 if that helps.
Could anyone help me out?
most Dells are impossible or impractical to overclock. If your laptop runs hot already, it's not going to be able to take more than a very slight overclock.
Technically yes, it's possible, but you have to go out and find a modified BIOS with overclocking features and flash your laptop's BIOS with this one (there's a potential of bricking the motherboard if something happens during the flash) for only a slight overclock (if it's not the CPU that overheats, it's going to be the RAM, and if neither overheat, you probably couldn't get much more power to either)
Yeah, this guide is for desktops, but most of the same rules apply, except that you won't be able to swap most components. http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=196767
You won't have much boost anyway

No, because that's exactly the case ESPECIALLY with Dell laptops.
even with setfsb, you will only be able to increase it by like 0.1GHz, seriously.
You could hard mod the processor, if you use conductive paste you can change the processor from an FSB of 800 to an FSB of 1066. It would bring it from 2.0Ghz to 2.66Ghz.
Oh here it is.

That is pretty cool.
Just found a guide for old pentium m systems. Got to take apart my laptop to fix the touchpad, might as well put some new paste and Oc it.
Thanks for mentioning the pinmod.
