Not really focusing on building a lot of muscle, just getting fit.
i still have no idea what is "just getting fit" and what exactly is it you are focusing on.
regardless, you got very thick abs.... i dunno about the rest
"Getting fit" as in a little muscle, and not having a lot of body fat. Casual muscle growth, not body building.
Also, statistics.... Maxed (one lift only)
Benchpress: 289 lbs
Squats: 350 lbs
Barbell bicep curl: 165 lbs
Deadlift: 330 lbs (Started working on this again after a three year break from it. Goal: 440 lbs)
Tricep dips: Body weight + 154 lbs
Pull ups (where your palms are facing away from your face): Body weight + 55 lbs
Pretty much..

Holy crap, are you mad? I'm not some sort of cyborg.
Fine, if I'm able to pull 440 lbs in deadlift by the end of the year, I'll reach for 500.
My goal for benchpress is 289 lbs x 8 reps.
Currently I'm doing 5x5 with these weights: 220, 242, 230, 230, 220.
Hopefully I'll be able to do 220, 242, 242, 230, 220 in a 3 months time.

thats pretty excellent, and 500 is just like a round-number goal
whats your height/weight? your body looks like the definition of thicksolidtight to me

In feet that would be 5.9, haven't weigh myself in a while, but I haven't gotten heavier then 165 lbs in three years, so maybe a couple of lbs up or down. Not sure.

as long as you go up in weight steadily it should work
as long as you go up in weight steadily it should work
I mean, I know the easiest and fastest way is bulking up fast then burning off the excess fat. But I want to keep my balance of bodyfat% while slowly increasing weight. Even if that will take years.

It will take a longer time yes.
But you won't look as ugly as you would when you bulk fast though.

i'm doing the slow one, but not extremely strict. I hit atleast carolie surplus each day and enough broteins.
went from 63 to 70kg over the course of a year with minimum bodyfat. Might not be the best gains in the world but i'm satisfied.
Extremely clean bulks are perfectly fine.
Probably what I'm going to do, because I was a fat 265 lbs fuck 34% bodyfat or so I got to put on some real good muscles over a year and got to around 200-205 lbs without even really checking my nutrition and still probably eating too much, only recently have I started messing around with decent nutrition to cut and I'm now down to 184 lbs, whenever I hit that 10-12% I'm aiming for, I'll probably just switch to extreme clean perma-bulk so that I gain slowly but what I gain is actual muscles instead of having to get big again and go back to a cut.
i think im a little under 260. yolo
haven't got stronger lately cuz a callus on my hand ripped off and its hard to grip anything over 300 for deads/cleans/rows ect.
But you're not 34% bf, more like 70 you fat fuck

hate that feel. make me cringe just reading that

this is how you should grab a bar. naturally, people have shit forearms and so have a tendency to just cling by their skin and fingers instead of grabbing, forcefully the bar.
so, what do i suggest? 1st, understanding how important forearms are. they are engaged in every lift you do. 2nd, calluses somewhere in the future will tear due to lagging forearms and prevent you from lifting anything at all, and you don't want that. nobody does. 3rd, and if your forearms still fail grabbing the bar, even more so this way? i would suggest finishing every workout with the grabbing of dumbbells as said above, for 30 seconds.
forearms can take a lot of damage if you look at strongman competitors. forearms are engaged in everything so not training them or using straps, chalk especially with people who can pull less than 300 on deads is absurd to me. it's an epidemic.

from a practicality pov,
insane. i realize how hard must it have been for you to lose so much weight and then gain it all back. you must remove that thought from your head because it's nothing but fear. i've had this fear myself, i was determined to stay at 7% year round and gain muscle at the same time. i have tried anything, everything, and you damn well know i can do my research. in the end, bodybuilding is about sacrifice; you need to sacrifice shit in order to gain shit. you need to get fat in order to get cut, there's no alternative when you are natural. you can't cheat your body, you are just spinning your wheels, you can't have the whole cake each and everytime and trust me i've tried having it all.
bulking on a clean diet, besides it being completely overrated it's also nonsense; calories in calories out, there's no clean, smooth, good looking, i dont' know. it's all bullshit. also, bulking on a clean diet, watching your intake, or more accurately, limiting it just so the fat gains would be degraded to a minimum is absurd right now. you are not going to gain just 5lbs a month when you are a beginner. you are limiting yourself completely. when you get to that level where you gain hardly 3lbs a year, then you can go ahead and limit what is already goddamn restricted anyways.
to sum, not practical. not worth it. limiting yourself.
from a mental pov,
i really want to address this. the fear thing. when you earn something that took you so long, hard work, blood and sweat, i get you. however, as i've said, bodybuilding is about sacrifice. you must give something in order to get something. once you realize this, you need to understand that your own reflection is nothing but interpretations; 'i look fat', 'i would look skinny'. some might agree, some would fall in love with you. media has poisoned our minds but reality is still reality, there are fat and skinny and buff people.
you want to be successful?? you need to let go of everything. you need to train passionately, regardless of what you get. all it comes down to is consistently. diet, sleep training. being vigilant.
Straight bars are good for beginners who use low weights. When you start adding more weight, it is not indicated because your wrists aren't designed to work at that angle at such intensities.
Grab the Z bar and let your wrists follow a more natural movement. Who cares about extreme forearm stimulation, if you're going to fuck your wrists doing heavy charged larry scott's.
[editline]3rd March 2013[/editline]
Oh, and for deadlifts and all that, grab the bar and hold it firmly, using gloves of course. This movement doesn't involve pronation/supination of the wrist so it's perfectly okay.
no comprende

Doing this with heavy loads, on the long term, will fuck up your wrist more than you will benefit from the last tiny bit of full bicep muscle contraction.

More wrist friendly.
blah2
do you even lift (not a meme reply dont ban me again)
Its okay, I use DBs so my wrists are fine.
damn
the whole time i been grabbing bars deep in my palm by my thumb
my life will never be the same
405 for 2 reps for 3 sets
Squat is slowly but surely getting better.
otherwise just had a light workout to get ready for the rest of the week.
Its okay, I use DBs so my wrists are fine.
i was going to say that dumbbells are really good because when you do them, your hand follows a natural motion, from hammer like position to horizontal (when bicep is fully contracted).
but hey, to the other guys doing larry scotts with straight bars with 10+ kg on each side, i hope your wrists can take it
After a short hiatus, I'm back.
