It also features the worlds first 24 hour a day radio station. It's nice they're making an android app as well though
.
So literally this, then?

$9.99 per month with a 3-month free trial, multi-platform apps, the recognition and support iTunes has, and an interface that doesn't look and function like complete garbage (cough spotify cough). I'd say this looks pretty promising.
If you really can listen to any track from the Itune store for $9.99 a month, that is pretty good...

I think Spotify have started to fix their UI, in the latest update they brought back ctrl+F for example.
Wasn't really interested when I heard the rumors but with a three month trial it wouldn't hurt to try.
i still got Google Play for 7.99$/month
don't really see a reason to switch to apple or others yet.

Famous Last words, I'd say but i really don't know why you would want to stream music in the first place.
It's $5 a month more expensive than a lot of the competition, and there's no assurances of platform availability (I didn't hear them mention anything about desktop clients).
Literally useless unless they have an absolutely massive music library, get new songs immediately, and support all platforms (iOS/OS X/Android/Windows/Linux/whatever).

Because streaming is way more convenient than buying albums or piracy. I've loved having Spotify but once you save a lot of stuff it really bogs down so hopefully this will be better (it looks that way, at least on iOS).

uh.
Remember that danish radio host a while back murdering a rabbit on-air? That radio station, "Radio24syv", has been playing live 24 hours a day for a looong time.
Honestly their family deal seems pretty incredible. $15 for 6 people might just cause some people to switch over to this from Spotify or Play Music.

That's a point, will this support an offline mode? If not then I probably won't be trying it, I use tracks offline on Spotify a lot, especially at work.

Spotify is $9.99 as well. That seems to be the standard. Also it's built into iTunes and they announced an Android port, and by the looks of things you get the entire iTunes library (or at least a giant portion of it).

I noticed in the demo there was a switch for showing only offline tracks, so I assume so.
Seems alright, I don't see any feature that would make it worth using over Spotify or Google Music though. iTunes on Windows might just be the worst program I've ever used.
Thanks apple, but I've had enough bad experiences with your software that I will never bother to anything made by you again.
Spotify is such a powerhouse.
They did a horrific job of explaining it during the keynote. I'm still not sure what exactly it is or why it would be a better option than Spotify.
Gonna stick to Spotify for now. Offline tracks are great and I absolutely loathe iTunes' UI

If if does have an offline mode like Spotify, I'll give it a try. But if by offline it only means 'store purchases and your own music files' then probably not.
The only reason I can see them not having offline playlists is that, for most people, it'd make the store pointless. Or maybe that's the route they want to head down?

It does have offline.

It lists "Save for offline listening" on the website here so I assume it works just as Spotify does.

revolutionary
the client still sucks ass
[editline]8th June 2015[/editline]
i don't see why anyone would want to roll with spotify over this. and i pay for premium
gplay still has a better deal for one person technically, but $14 for 6 people is insane on apple music
itunes carries more niche music than spotify and gplay too
Another Competitive service. Oh wait ...
Apple Have been making publishers pull from other streaming services to for it's own streaming.
(Well Sony Music, at least, hell maybe Sony was the decision)
We will wait and see.
really, what spotify has over Apple Music is a decent free tier. but even spotify has fucked that up over time
Didn't Apple bully Spotify into dropping its free to use model?
Shit like this is why we can't have nice things.
