While I do agree that Rugby is more manly than Football, it still hurts like a bitch to get hit like that. I've been blindsided before during Football practice last year and that gave me a pounding headache for the rest of practice.

the pads keep you from dying, thats about it. if you get hit hard enough, you'll get hurt. broken arms, pinched nerves, concussions, snapped legs, twisted ankles, are all common occurrences. a WR two years ago on our football team almost broke his neck when he got flipped, with a helmet and everything. if you get hit hard enough, you'll be hurt, and the pads don't help. i used to play line so i know what im talking about
What's with kids posting how bad football is. It's fun to play and especially when you hurt some body. Hitting people really hard without hurting your self is incredible.
