it comes out of the right side and radiohead uses it all the time. i'm totally new to guitar, i just learned how to play that song on it. so forgive if this is easy to achieve.
Rickenbacker 360 -> Vox AC30 with plenty of reverb ala Beach Boys.
okay let me rephrase the question. how do i get that sound out of my electric squire and little marshal amp... i have a myriad of foot peddles. well they aren't mine but i can borrow them.

so holding the guitar as if i were playing it the switch basically is supposed to go up right? it's fucking amazing how fast i'm learning all my favorite songs. i've already nailed Narc by Interpol, have love will travel by... fuck everyone, and of course this song. oh yeah and the sweet dreams cover by MM. pussy magnet
good for you man, and yes, make the switch go all the way up, or one notch before that
foot peddles won't get you close to that sound because you need a very deep and jangly guitar with a very clear and clean amp.
so the body affects the sound? like what are all the factors involved here? i got amps, many amps, so that's no problem they just aren't mine. i'd imagine it's just the pickups and strings cause as far as i know all that's going on regarding sound on an electric guitar is those two things. and the bridge.
the acoustics of the room means a lot too, and the body of the guitar, and neck, and humidity, recording hardware can make a big difference too and also what pick you use. also how you record, either with microphone or line in makes difference.
