So I got $240 to spend on a monitor, no more than that with shipping. I'm looking for a 1920x1080 or 1200 IPS monitor, so far I've looked at this one and I think it's my best bet http://www.microcenter.com/product/4...PS_LCD_Monitor But I am 100% open to opinions and options in case there is something better.
If you want a really cheap IPS that's good quality LG have some fantastic ones. I own a 21 inch version of that one and it's pretty fucking spot on. Seems you can get the 27 inch one in your price range at the moment too.
Not too long ago I was in the market for a new monitor to replace my old 17" AOI. After asking around and reading reviews on top ten I got an ASUS VS239H-P Black 23" 5ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor for $180 at Newegg. It's an IPS monitor. Turned out to be a really good monitor. It also have a Splendid button that give you different screen setting for movies, games, etc. The reviews on your choice seems to be pretty good except for one user who said he will not buy it again. Hmm...

I personally prefer smaller screens with higher ppi.
Well my desk is very compact and 24 inches is the biggest I can really fit.

I went with the Auria I posted, it looks so crisp and amazing. The LG might have been slightly better in ease of use, but this looks gorgeous. It's freaking huge though!
