I remember Battlefield 1942 was the first game my brother got me when he built me my first computer back in 2002, it was the best game ever when I was a kid.
I remember when I was younger, I stayed up really late to play the 1942 demo when it released on Fileplanet. Played it the entire night into the day. It was so amazing at the time. You could fly planes, drive tanks, shoot Nazis with your rifle, and even captain massive naval ships.
This was my all-time favorite game back when. I thought it was the pinnacle of graphics.
It still has a special place in my heart, but with recent developments in technology and video game design, the poor models, textures, physics, etc. have pushed me away to more modern games.
My dad introduced me to this game back when the multiplayer demo came out.
His clan went on to host the most popular Desert Combat server. Worldwide. I'm proud that I can say that.
Oh man this takes me back sooooo many years............I remember the first game i played of this......3 people stole a plane as i was waiting for it and failed at a take off by flying the plane right into the side of the hangar.
Played it alot.
Oh god, the memories of ramming destroyers with the carrier.
I never had the full version. I always played the two demos and I played them a lot.
Absolutely brilliant game. I wish so much that DICE would remake it. El Alamein - what a map!
This was back when I used to enjoy CoD.
I never played it :v:
Me and my friends still play this, we usually play the star wars mod.
The game is amazing
I still remember when I first got this... I actually got it because I watched the BF: Vietnam commercials, and I decided too try it out.
Now? Now I'm a hardcore Battlefield Fanboy, that doesn't regret all the moments of being called, "Ace of Spades" for dogfighting so much.
The Memory's with Desert combat, Huge as hell Tank battles in El Alamain.

Back when game developers actually done there own thing, Battlefield was battlefield. CoD was CoD. there was no Rivalry....

Also. I can't get this to work on my PC anymore :crying:
Its W7 and it still doesn't even want to run on Compatibility mode...
This doesn't look so shit in my memories :(

I always remember old games to look better, but when I see them again I realize how shitty the graphics are. :v:
Played it a lot when I was younger. I loved it.
I remember shooting a plane down with a tank, god the times I had in that game.
Oh man I remember picking off snipers with the engineer carbines, fun times.

I'm pretty sure there is some kind of small revamp built with the engine from BFBC2
Nah 1943 is far from a revamp, it's just very dumbed down from 1942, plus it's not coming to pc because BF3 is being prioritized.
A good thing, I guess, considering 1943 isn't all that fun.
1943 is just a tech demo for BC2 more or less.
1942 was my childhood. I really want a good remake of this. Not some small, crappy console-only dlc. I think this game deserves a proper remake
Ahhhh, so much nostalgia from playing 1942 back in the day :allears:
Loved LAN-ing with my friends and play it on my spare time from school
Can't wait for Battlefield 3
I wish I would of gotten into PC gaming when 1942 was in it's prime :sigh: Got in with BF2 though, which is still pretty damn good.
