A new mysterious group of hackers that calls itself the Armada Collective has targeted the website of a cyber security expert for highlighting its Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and ransom demands against a wide number of Swiss firms, four Thai banks and most recently, the providers of secure webmail services.
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/armada-collective-hackers-target-security-expert-highlighting-biggest-ever-ddos-attacks-1528226
Times like these just make me always hope scum like this gets caught.

It was particularly bad about a week or two ago, made it pretty hard for me to even attempt to do my job. [editline]28th November 2015[/editline] Supposedly the Armada Collective is primarily a criminal enterprise - they'll hold companies to ransom and thraten to DDoS them unless the company pays them first. Altohugh my understanding was that one or two of the companies did pay and got DDoSed anyway. Doesn't surprise me that Zoho refused to pay.
I got an email from zoho saying that they're continually getting ddosd and to expect slow loading. Haven't noticed anything yet, emails still coming through/getting sent as normal.

We use Zoho to host some of our databases and those are being affected pretty badly (or at least they were). Could be email wasn't affected.
Could be only certain services are being affected? We use Zoho to host some of our databases and those are being affected pretty badly (or at least they were). Could be email wasn't affected.
It was for me.
It was for me.
Was for me too, was wondering why my email was taking ages to load.
Okay, fuck Zoho. Thunderbird refuses to play well with it, spamming my desktop with connection errors and similar whining, then they fail to communicate with a potential employer's MX for no reason, then they succumb to DDoS. Guess all this is expected of a free email server. Their flaws are just too much.
