A Swedish paper manufacturer made an unpleasant discovery recently, when they found that someone had been drawing swastikas on the company's paper rolls - later exported to a major client in Germany. The German client was not amused. "They reacted strongly, and wanted an explanation of how this could've happened," said Lars Lundin to local newspaper Hallandsposten. Lundin is CEO of Stora Enso's paper mill Hyltebruk, in southern Sweden, where the incident occurred. "I've given the client my personal apologies, as well as the company's. Today it looks as though we'll be able to keep them as clients." Lundin was initially loath to disclose the nature of the drawings discovered on the rolls, describing them only as "symbols offensive to other people" when Hallandsposten first wrote of the matter on Friday. However, an employee at Stora Enso soon contacted the newspaper and revealed that the drawings were in fact swastikas. "I think they're incredibly embarassed that the company in Germany reacted. Those who don't know about this should definitely be told," said the anonymous employee to Hallandsposten. The company's senior safety ombudsman wants to keep the matter within the company, according to Hallandsposten, and describes the incident as "general ignorance". Why do Germans still get upset about the Swastika? It's coming to near a 75 years since the war and they're still really anal about it. I think the swastika is a fucking awesome logo, it's just the association with Nazis doesn't realy give it a good image.
Why do Germans still get upset about the Swastika? A deep sense of national shame is their part of reparations and atonement for what their country did.

There was a reason why the person who drew that took this symbol especially.
It means good luck. Casinos in eastern Asian countries often display the symbol. Obviously the Swedish manufacturer wanted the paper rolls not to get lost in the mail.
I bet they did Nazi that coming.
These bloody Nazi puns, I hate 'em. Anne frankly they are offensive! Camp you tell they aren't reich!?
If he Wehrmacht to make a good joke it would be funnier. [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] It sounded better in my head.
can we get through one thread involving nazis without making puns its like Facepunch's Godwin Law: "As an online discussion about Nazis grows longer, the probability of a pun involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

they better Auschfix the problem

I live in Austria right at the border of Germany. I talked to a lot of people about this topic, they immediatly take you for a nazi because you talk about World War II. They are also change the topic fastly. It was a tragedy and nothing can be done to unchange it, people should definitly move on.

I would not call them uneducated, by it seems like it is dependant on the person. But people are generally butthurt about it.
Germans are going to be the last country in the world to become comfortable with Swastikas again because there are many people in the world who would condemn Germany if they did become comfortable again, even if it didn't mean anything.
