It has had its fair share of international criticism. But the island once famed for financial ruin is fighting back with love: Iceland is, officially, the most welcoming nation on earth.
Still reeling from its economic collapse five years ago, Iceland has been voted the most welcoming to foreigners of 140 countries polled by the World Economic Forum. The public attitudes survey found Icelandic society most open and welcoming to foreigners, followed by New Zealand and Morocco. Britain, it should be said, came 55th.

Five most friendly
1. Iceland
2. New Zealand
3. Morocco
4. Macedonia, FYR
5. Austria
Five most unfriendly
1. Bolivia
2. Venezuela
3. Russian Federation
4. Kuwait
5. Latvia
What about Canada?
What about Canada?

What about Canada?
we need to stop being racists before we win contests
I can relate to this ruling; I went to Iceland in late June last year, and it was a really nice place. Not just the people, but also in the land itself; though I do like trees, there were many rolling hills and geothermal locations. Also, being that most of the Icelandic towns and cities are coastal, there is a lot of fresh seafood.
Normally I'm not one for seafood and fish because in my native land it smells and tastes "fishy", but the seafood in coastal areas, especially in Iceland, is almost always fresh. There's nothing quite like fresh fish as opposed to the fish that most other people end up with, being that for inlanders and continentals the journey from ocean to plate is a lot longer than it is by the coastlines. So if you ever want to eat fish, eat fish in a coastal town where the fish is fresh; much better than the kind of fish that's been preserved so it can last longer.

You'll get nothing and you'll like it.
I dont think my country will be winning this contest any time soon.....Australia... we are full.
The climate is pretty doable.
I might actually consider it...
New Zealand is 2nd? Fuuuuuck offfff
That's not very friendly
Iceland? ICELAND?
My mom got evicted out of the country because the family she was staying with accused her of stealing a bathmat :v:
What about Canada?
Canada is full of judgmental, ass backwards bigots dude. Just really good at keeping the bad shit out of the spotlight.
Also two-faced as hell when dealing with non-Canadians, I've found
I will visit someday, same with new zealand.
What about Canada?
As a Canadian, I don't see where the friendliness thing came from. Most people in BC are on par with Americans when it comes to friendliness.
perhaps all the hate and anger instantly freezes.
edit: also having hot water springs to dip your genitals in would make anyone happy.

Nova Scotia.
There are a ton of friendlies in Alberta Canada, just the youth population needs to be a bit more friendlier. Seems to be a ton of city crime too...

Kind of a bad comparison when there are areas that have a population higher than your entire country which can be completely different from another area. Areas that are much friendlier than Canadians and areas filled with xenophobic hillbillies. America is a very large place and to lump every single one of them into a giant pile is pretty silly.
wow so our neighbours are really unfriendly, example:twin brothers from latvia that got lithuanian citizenship, also big fans of our basketball, they were so stupid that they beaten one "barcelona" player, because he conflicted with one of our local team member
