I know there's only about 3 other apple fanboys on these forums - but lets get some Apple chat!
The only really useful things I can see in iOS6 are
• Phone call responders
• Passbook (which isn't really useful right now)
• Find Friends has notifications
I'm split on the map changes. I'm all for turn by turn navigation - but Google did maps better.
Google's youtube app seems better than the old one too. Is there anything I'm missing?
It looks promising, but passbook wouldn't really be useful in my country.
The change kinda feels like the jump from iOS4 to 5
And they did fuck up their maps service.

Still no Flash?
Ah, okay.
The Youtube app has no iPad support so I can't update without having crippled support for Youtube, unless I go to the mobile site I guess. Even worse, I'll lose my jailbreak so I won't have RetinaPad to do font resampling on scaled up phone apps. I'll probably upgrade once we get a native Google Maps app so I can get my transit information and a proper Youtube app for iPad. Maybe Google doesn't understand that on iOS you're expected to not have your apps for tablets be blown up phone apps.

Jellybean doesn't support Flash officially either. It's DEAD in the mobile space. Adobe lost and it's for the best in the long run.

Soon, Flash will be gone for Android aswell, and thats a good thing.

Damn ninjas
I'm kinda excited for it, I've been away from iOS for a while and looks like I'll be coming back with the iPhone 5. Phone Call Responders and Passbook are probably my favorite of the lot. But goddamn Apple screwed up Maps.

I'm so glad after owning so many Android phones to have an iOS device(although it's just an iPad for now). The fluidity, responsiveness, and speed is just unmatched, even by my Windows Phone.
Apple's really screwed themselves by severing their once strong relationship with both Google and Adobe, two companies that already have their products so deeply embedded in mainstream technology. If Apple didn't have such a strong userbase, there'd be no way they'd be able to introduce long-term alternatives to those products. Luckily, it doesn't make sense from a business perspective for Google or Adobe to abandon such a large market.. yet.

I don't see your point with Adobe. No major mobile platform supports Flash now, it's completely dead in the mobile space and Apple not supporting it hasn't affected them since 2007, not sure how it magically will start doing it now that Flash for mobile is actually dead across the board.

They're not really screwing themselves with Adobe, no one Flash anymore, and Adobe make products other than flash.
And Google was bound to happen, what with Android and all.
I see it as a good thing. You get Google's far superior replacements for YouTube & Maps instead of the tripe Apple served up.
Google's Youtube app may be better in terms of functionality, but it has no tablet support and has ads. I don't really mind ads but seriously get a tablet version out if you want me to watch the damn things.
Not sure about Apple maps either - new YouTube app is way better.
I don't get why people tout Flash as a great feature of Android. I have Flash installed on my Xoom - which runs an OC'd 1.6GHz Tegra 2 - and it's slow, buggy, hard to use. Watching inline videos is often jittery and cuts out after awhile or the browser just freezes, and playing flash games is impossible.
Some things just aren't mobile optimized. My car manual says I can tow things with my car, but what am I going to tow with a Honda Prelude? It's the same sort of concept.
Honestly, I wish I didn't update to 6 GM.
I use public transit a lot, and now maps is just like "well sry you dont have a routing app"
Passbook is completely useless for me, so it goes in my stock app folder full of things I don't use.
New maps uses yelp for POI data, meaning that it has way less than Google maps.
iOS 6 is just useless to me especially with an iPhone 4. I don't care enough about Facebook to need it integrated into my phone, I'm perfectly fine with accessing it from my computer now and then. Passbook is also useless to me and should be one of those official Apple apps that are optional to download. The new storefronts are nice, but I don't download enough apps to really care about that either. FMI has always worked for me so I don't care about the new changes, and FMF is a very odd concept to me.
The Mail/Safari/Calling changes are welcome however.

I wonder if you will get anything similar to Google now?

no mapping app, and i wouldn't even get apple now
iphone 4 aka we give you a few new features so you shut up

flyover is so strenuous for our so very old and dilapidated A4's :I
flyover is gimmicky anyways
i've noticed apple has started putting in less features and more "features"
"omg garry have you seen flyover??"
"wow look at this, it shreds the pass when you are done with it"
"cool you can post to facebook from the NC"
They've more or less fixed it, but my battery life is terrible now, which I'm attributing to the fact that this phone is more than 24 months old
Out of curiosity, have the later iOS updates brought your device down to a crawl like they did for the older iPhones?
The only thing affecting my performance is BiteSMS which I use regularly. Plus the theme I'm using (aka winterboard's usual drag on performance.) The delays I have are usually no longer than a second and only occur with third party apps though. Safari is snappy, it's quick to shoot photos. I can't really complain about performance.

Really? I can easily go for 2 days with mine.
start phone fully charged at 12pm
by 1pm its already down to around 80%
I didn't charge my phone overnight. I had about 17% when my alarm went off, plugged it in for 20 minutes while I did my morning routine, it's charged halfway and will easily last the rest of the day with consistent texting and pulling down emails every 30 minutes from 4 inboxes.

I have to leave mine plugged in over night,
it'll die otherwise

Get a battery changed. It's really easy actually, aside from the fact that they glue the fucking battery to the chassis.
I've only fully torn down my phone like 4 times, so I'm pretty good at it.
not worth it for me
new nexuses coming soon (i'm switching to android)
I think I'll probably be switching myself once contract is over since Apple's really lost their competitive edge.

Apparently you can use google maps in safari - and it's just as fast as the app..
iOS is the only thing that really puts me off of using an iPhone, the phone build quality and exterior design is Grade A but I really can't stand how iOS Looks and feels.
I don't think Android is very good either to be honest, so I'll be giving WP8 a go.
The last time I used android it was terrible. Totally not smooth. Inconsistent design.

That's a strong point for iOS/WP, the designers know how to follow a scheme.
