Hello I got in an argument today saying that guys ONLY learn guitar to pull. I for one didn't, so can people answer the poll to prove him (or me) wrong. I'd really like to get a definitive answer, albeit against my own and if you have something to say, please say it Thanks Emersont1
i got my girlfriend through being a guitarist in an awesome band. now i live with her. take from that what you will

People just enjoy making music, is that not understandable?
People just enjoy making music, is that not understandable?
My point exactly
i got my girlfriend through being a guitarist in an awesome band. now i live with her. take from that what you will
Same here except im no longer in a band and my girlfriend is at uni. [editline]Edited[/editline] Making music at the time was hella fun and you could just use your imagination with it. Life just got in the way.
what kind of stupid question is that???
Add an option labeled "WTF is pull?"
People learn instruments for the intention of getting laid? Mm, sounds like these people just can't get laid any other way and saw somewhere on buzzfeed that learning the guitar will get you the first class ticket to puss-town.
I don't need a big piece of wood apart from my own to get laid.
I did it to pull at first, then gave up. A few years later, I returned more dedicated to playing and now I can play more than just a few barre chords and my fret hand is so much more faster over the years. I rarely pull with it though, it's more of an interesting personality fact about me.
It took me a minute to realize you mean "pull tail" which is a term so outdated I just have to ask, dad? grandpa? is that you?
I rarely pull and, tooting my own horn, I'm purdy gurd
I learned guitar cause music is cool. The amount of pussy I get is 100% coinidental.
I learned it because I wanted to learn guitar to play my favourite songs.
I learned it because I wanted to learn guitar to play my favourite songs.
The same thing. Except, I wanted also to learn to write my own songs.
I got into guitar with this intention. However, it has grown into something a lot bigger and it is no longer a part of it.
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1446284 we already have a thread for this and no, if I was worried about picking up women I would've spent all that time doing something easy, like talking to girls
I thought you meant learning to do pull offs

I learned to play the instruments I do because I love music. Music and film are the two things I've always wanted to do, and lucky for me they go great together. I think it's dumb to learn something just because you think it will get you some action, you're only fooling yourself.
The only way to pull is by having a miniature train set.
Says the guy with the avatar from "The Wall". :v:
Have you got a problem with pink floyd?
i learned guitar to play the halo theme and now i've written around 50 reggae songs i couldn't imagine using the guitar to get laid, that'd feel kinda empty idk
I started out with the sole purpose of passing music in school. I fell in love with learning it after a while and I got myself an A. Then it became a chore and I lost my love. Haven't played since.
Have you got a problem with pink floyd?
You dont realize the joke, grandpa [editline]8th June 2015[/editline] Also nobody pulls, get your own goddamn instruments
Well tbh I just play because it's a nice way to spend time and I learn new things every time I play around with it. It's also a nice outlet and way to calm down. All in all it comes down to that I play guitar for me and my personal enjoyment, not for what women, men, or anyone else is going to think of it.
Have you got a problem with pink floyd?
No, not at all. The Division Bell and The Dark Side of the Moon are some of my favorite albums.
