My first time smoking pot - and how I completely fucked it up.

Hi Drugpunch. What I'm about to describe to you just recently happened to me. As in within the hour. I'm annoyed but also kinda amused at myself for doing this, and I want to write it down while it's still fresh in my mind.
So here's what happened: I spent most of the summer waiting on a friend to get back from camp so we could smoke together, it being my first time. We were gonna smoke in June, but he was afraid he'd get caught. Soon as he gets back, I'm just watching and waiting for him to not be as busy anymore, but it turns out he's still got too much shit so he says maybe he'll just sell me something and I can toke on my own.
He never shows.
The next day I go to the same location and buy a gram off one of his friends for twenty bucks (as for whether or not that's a rip-off, I have no idea). After being underwhelmed by the size of it (which I kind of expected), I walk home--past the police station, which I had reminded myself not to do--eagerly awaiting nightfall so I can go out to a bicycle path nearby and light up for the first time.
I know I'm not gonna feel anything the first time, but I want to get it out of the way so that when school starts I can smoke with anyone I want and get high with them. So I go to the bicycle path with my gram and my tinfoil bowl (it's all I had). I check the path both ways to make sure no one's coming, I pull out the bowl (which I'd packed earlier), and get ready to smoke.
Problem is I brought a matchbook. A really old, shitty matchbook. After trying several times to light a match, I finally get it going--only to have it burn out the moment I get it in the bowl, from lack of oxygen. I try this a few more times with a few more matches, but I can't get it going. After letting a European couple go by on their bikes (who the fuck goes biking at 10:30 at night?), I get impatient. I tear out the entire matchbook, rip it into two pieces, and try the first cluster.
My lungs fill with a smoke. I don't know if it was pot smoke or the smoke from the matches. There was a little pot smell in it, but I'm certain it was mostly the matches.
I try it again with the second cluster, but I still can't keep the pot lighted. I dump what's left of it into my hand, put it back in the baggie, tear up the bowl and go home.
So that's how I wasted half a gram of pot, without even knowing if I'm gonna get high the next time.

Dude just smoke it is not as complicated as you're making it. If you still have it just smoke it.

No, but I still don't really want them to know.
How can they possibly find out then. Just don't be retarded about it. Use eye drops don't act stupid and laugh if you come home high or just stay at a friends and smoke.

It's not that simple. But yeah, I'll probably end up smoking with a friend.

if you don't have joints or legit instruments, don't use tinfoil.
Just get an apple, orange, potato, banana OR ANY OTHER FRUIT, put a few holes in them and maybe use a pen case for a tube, one hole will be small and the other will be tube sized! the small hole gets packed with weed THE OTHER TUBE SIZED HOLE GETS A TUBE IN IT

Rolling a joint is pretty complicated to be honest. Took me a little while to learn properly.

There was absolutely no wind.
Well it was matches which sucks for trying to smoke a bowl. Especially outside.
Depends on the weed really. I guess it would last for awhile i usually never conserved weed.
