This seriously happened in Canada of all places?
Again?
Is there any merit to stealing that much syrup?
Again?
Yeah though last time it was $1,400,000 worth of maple syrup, I believe. So it's not as bad.
Is there any merit to stealing that much syrup?
Selling it, though they would have to dump it all in new containers first.
Fuck me I hope prices don't go up again
sweet
:excited:
$130,000 is about 4 glasses of maple syrup right?
They must have mistaken it as 'liquid gold'.
This is either the most or least Canadian thing I have read.
I have to ask, how does someone sell illegal maple syrup on the black market? This goes for so many other mundane everyday goods as well, it's insane it really is. How the fuck does this work? :v:

Go to the rear entrance and knock twice and tell them Rupert sent you. They're good people, they'll tell you what to do.

Most restaurants would gladly buy under-the-counter. They already do it for mushrooms and certain wild edibles.

They also have this huge stockpile of maple syrup that they just keep stockpiled to keep the prices up. That's why there's a black market for maple syrup.
This isn't the first time that there's been a maple syrup heist in Canada. We tend to have a lot of food related crimes.
So what, Canadian DEA will start War on Foods?
Never thought there was a maple factory in my city.
This is either the most or least Canadian thing I have read.
Well it would be the most canadian thing if the thieves returned the syrup, apologized and had a friendly hockey match with the owners.
