Hey guyz I just wanted your opinions about my new creation in tribute to the best of rock: Jaaaaaames Hetfield! Note; this is not a vector...made with gimp. By me.
Woah, very good, I really like it ! Good job soffner !
Not bad for a GIMP creation. That program can be a fucker to work with imo. Does the arrows have a special meaning to Hetfield/Metallica? If yes, then it's a pretty cool addition.
Stencil font AW YEAH - srsly, I'd say the text is the main problem with the poster, especially with the semi-transparent dripping splashes - they'd look better the same opacity. Overall, it's ok. Obtain Photoshop, you show promise. Splatters may be overdone. I don't think Metallica are that hardcore.
Looks good. The arrows can be more smoother though.
I think the arrows seem to be overdone. Just a single arrow for each album with the main colour from each and the text in a contrasting colour to liven it up a bit. For example: Kill 'Em All - red & black, Ride The Lightning - blue & white, Black Album - Black with silver edging, silver text, etc. Other than that, not bad at all. Just a note, Metallica isn't rock, it's metal, but that is a minor point that may only annoy me :v:
Pffff James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine's where it's AT. Good poster though, althou8gh the splatter in the bottom-right corner is annoying
Ahem, just some info, I think Soffner's best artistic ability is drawing (not digital art), that's why I find it very good ! :D

Original was better. Looks a bit blurry too, kinda annoys me. but apart from that it's pretty cool.
It's too blurry The arrows and straighter lines need anti aliasing, not blur. The red is awkward as is.
Looks like you just found a brush pack and went to town.
Hmm, the problem is that the original one is too jaggy. Adding Blur was his way to smooth it a bit. Also, I always wanted to know if it's possible to add a kind of Antialiasing Filter to an image that's jaggy without using blur... Is it possible ? (I'm not so good at Image manipulation, so this can be a noob question).
Well... like ferdam I don't know how to add antialiasing so please...more tips!
I like how OP didn't take ANY of our advice when making new poster. GG OP.

Meh, it's alright. Could be improved substantially though.

I can make it perfectly anti aliased, then load that as a selection and delete the jaggies
What's with the # after James Hetfield? Am I, uh, missing something?
