Eve has some amazing stories. Too bad the gameplay isnt nearly as good.

the game is difficult and takes a lot of time and effort to learn it and enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it's bad necessarily

It does mean it's rather dull for players who don't have deep pockets. If I could buy two PLEX every month, one for the license renewal one to sell in Jita, I could see myself having a LOT of fun in small fleet PVP shenanigans with my fully T2 Hurricane, but alas, I can't even afford the one I need just to fly the next month. And I'm sorry but grinding away, literally, on asteroids and iceburgs for 30 of the 31 days in the month does not make for a fun time. So I just drifted out of the galaxy.
Such a shame, too. The universe is great. The lore is great. And if CCP would commission Tamiya or Hasegawa to make some plastic model kits of their ships I would never have a penny to my name ever again.

sounds like the problem is with your ability to make money rather than the game itself directly
I'm loaded, can fly expensive pvp ships and I've never ran a single mission or mined an asteroid or bought a plex
I mean you said you grinded away on asteroids? literally the worst way to make money in the entire game lol
I just picked up an EVE novel a few months ago (EVE: the Empyrean Age) on a whim along with six or so other books. I wasn't expecting much, never having gotten into EVE and it just being a video game novel so probably not much.
To my surprise, it was actually VERY good. The story was deep and interesting and I found myself invested into every single character.

The novelizations are great, however they've got nothing to do with the actual players, which is what True Stories is about.
