Mite b fun but after being banned from Crytek's social stats website thing for having the audacity to ask for a refund I think I'm just going to pass on their future products.

Why on earth would you ask Crytek for a refund?
They didn't sell you the game.

Long story, but the game simply didn't work. Mutliplayer progress wasn't saved at all, and this was happening for weeks post release. A few people were having the same problem. After a couple of patches and a dozen clientside fix attempts that supposedly worked for other people failed, I resorted to just getting a refund. Obviously I asked Steam first since their service was the one I used to buy it. They sent me to EA. EA sent me the typical troubleshooting bullshit and when I asked about the same issue again they sent me back to Steam who said I couldn't get a refund due to their policy. After spending a week going between tickets and emails I was frustrated so posted the whole thing on MyCrysis to try and get someone to talk to me; marketing folks from Crytek posted on their fairly regularly. I checked the next morning to find my topic deleted and my account closed, with no explanation. I sent emails twice, months apart, inquiring about the situation but got told that I was banned for infringing the site TOS and it wouldn't be lifted.
So no, they didn't sell me the game, but they did treat atleast one customer like shit. Honestly I could see closing the topic and not wanting to make it a public spectacle, that was totally my bad, but after a week of trying to get my money back for a game that literally didn't work I was frustrated and had nothing to do. But they went over the line banning me. Interestingly enough, and I don't know if this is related to having my account disabled, Crysis 2 multiplayer games still don't register for me a full two years after release.

You must have been a pain in the ass for so many people.
A game doesn't simply seize working because it doesn't update your multilayer stats.
That sort of stuff happens because you have closed ports you think are open.

Well, yes, I will be a pain in the ass when I feel like getting my money back for a defective and the system is working against me. I work customer service, that's how shit gets done.
And you clearly don't understand the context. I didn't want to get a refund because my stats weren't updating. I could give a shit less about my stats. The entire multiplayer progression loop wasn't working, for months. Do you know what that means? It means I couldn't use any of the content that required unlocking. Scopes, perks, equipment, weapons, abilities were all locked off to me. That's a defective product and I'm damn well deserving of a refund for it.

And again, it still doesn't work. I tried a few weeks ago. 22 months after buying the game and I still can't use most of the content I paid for. Forget being banned from a dumb community site, I'm not buying another Crysis game because the last one I bought still doesn't work.
obviously the digital copy you downloaded must be flawed.
honestly it was probably something on your end causing it.

I spent literally weeks at launch looking for fixes. I tried clientside ones I found, no dice. Progression doesn't totally not work either; I got to rank 22 out of 50. It just doesn't go past that no matter what I play. And like I said, the stat tracking site doesn't track the games anymore. I played two in early December; it says the last game I played was last January.
It should also be noted that I've played the game on two entirely different computers and still wasn't able to progress. This also wasn't just my problem, several people on the boards had it.
I wonder if it'll have the developer cheats the c2 beta leak had...

Retail had them too for a couple weeks.
Played the Alpha... shit was the same stuff like in Crysis 2... same weapons with some reskins, player models too. That's it.

Games has system requirements, OS requirements and even more requirements to the PC environment that isn't even stated on the box. If you installed via a disk, and it was somehow corrupt the installer would have given you an error, or not run at all. if you chose to download it and your product was corrupt the installer would still give an error, or not run at all.
This means that you as a consumer must have failed to follow the guidelines Associated with the product meaning they don't give a shit because whatever foul hardware, or software you have crippling the game is not standard issue and not something they "have" to fix as a company in order to not be the pinnacle of evil in their average consumers mind.
You say you've worked customer support so you should know that feel when you have a customer with such a silly entitlement that you can't help but pity their pointless endeavour.
