Hello, this is my first thread in this section.
I'm having a lot of trouble with my computer (tower). It starts, screen shows nothing at all, not even motherboard, boot stuff and etc. After 30 seconds or so, it does one long beep, then two short beeps. I've got bored this week because I don't really have a good hand manipulating PC parts. The PC is quite old, but it used to function properly without any real lag. It just used to freeze on startup if my motherboard wasn't hot, then rebooting it would work. (That's what I deducted) It was mounted by friends, a long time ago.
So what could eventually be the problem?
Thank you guys.
Edit: I can provide a video of what it does, just in case.
I have zero clue about how that really works, but maybe that's a BIOS problem, seeing how it doesn't show even the start-up text.
I googled it and I saw it was maybe about RAM problem. I'll have to check my RAM.
I'd go with either the PSU or RAM is bad.
Giving us your motherboard model will help us clarify what the beeps mean.
1.4.2.1 Memory issue: Beep (1 long 2 short)
A Clean the Golden Finger of memory
B Clean the memory slots
C Leave only one memory stick to test
D If convenient, please change different memory to test again
But be aware that it could be a PSU issue as well.
