Very gut ant nisse
Sehr Gut ant Nisse
Its been so long since I've bought a PC game on retail and seeing those 7 DVD discs reminded me why.
Thats the one thing about buying it on steam I won't have the city map poster!
good thing i don't need a second map, i have it with my PS3 copy
I pre ordered it retail because it was like 100 NOK cheaper than on Steam and with free shipping :v: That's like $15 cheaper
I'm no expert but why is there so many disks for PC compared to a 360, PS3, PS4 and Xbox One? Why couldn't they put it on one, two or three disks for PC? Why like, five?
A lot of people don't have blue rays. The next gen version was formatted around 60gbs, which is why the consoles get one disk as they all support it.
PS3 and X360 have the older version of GTA 5 with worse graphics. PS4 and Xbone have blu ray drives
The PS3 uses bluray discs as well
Going to see if I can pick my retail copy up today.
The PS3 uses bluray discs as well
The game on the PS3 is probably 16 gb at much, I can't see a PS3 needing more.
I kind of expected an index card with a game key written on it in pencil.
Its been so long since I've bought a PC game on retail and seeing those 7 DVD discs reminded me why.
I'd take my 7 disks over the 30 hour download I'd have waiting for me otherwise.
I'd take my 7 disks over the 30 hour download I'd have waiting for me otherwise.
or you can go to a library or university and connect directly to their network, i downloaded the 5gb cities skyline in like 10 minutes on my school's network one night, it was awesome. i got steam up to 1.5Mb/s i mean i'm not advocating torrenting from these places, but for a 1 time download its not like its a crime
I don't see why 7 discs is a "bad" thing it's a sign that it's outdated technology that's only really useful for installing windows and car music and nothing else bluray and beyond maybe not so much [editline]12th April 2015[/editline] it just shows that someone needs to make something not as awful
that is actually more disks than ut2k4 had
that is actually more disks than ut2k4 had
well UT2K4 wasn't 60gbs
Man, this is making think of when I got GTASA, It was the first game I bought that needed a DVD to install, so I had to buy a DVD tray.
Part of me misses having the discs ready to go, swapping them and seeing the little progress bar flicker and move around on those old screens installing SC4 or Battlefield2. A small part.
I love disks, and I love game boxes. It'll look nice on my shelf. Oh, and I wasn't able to pick mine up today. Though the guys at the store said to come by for the Mortal Kombat X midnight Launch party and their system should hopefully allow them to then. so yay for that I suppose.
I don't even have a disc drive on my computer it's 2015 guys get with the times

Hell, they could sell the game on usb sticks, that would be even better.

It's actually cheaper for me to pay for UPS to ship me a copy from one of Newegg's locations than it is for me to drive somewhere with good internet and download it there, and it's faster for UPS to ship me a physical copy than it is for ATT to send me a digital copy! I'll be playing V at some point, and itt'l be because I bought a copy off Newegg. [editline]13th April 2015[/editline]
I don't even have a disc drive on my computer it's 2015 guys get with the times
I have a DVD drive, but in order to hook it up I need to shut down, swap an IDE ribbon over, fuck with boot order, reboot, use it, shut down, reverse the above, reboot again. :v:
I think I have like 3 IDE dvd drives but the motherboard I've been using for the past 3 years or so doesn't support ide
I have one slot on my mobo for a ribbon and only one port on said ribbon can reach a drive at a time due to the way my case is set up. I really need to just un-lazy and drop 20 bucks on a SATA BD-DVD drive.
