Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, President Trump’s Supreme Court appointee, is scheduled to address a conservative group at the Trump International Hotel in Washington next month, less than two weeks before the court is set to hear arguments on Mr. Trump’s travel ban.
Stephen Gillers, an expert on legal ethics at New York University, questioned the justice’s decision to speak at the hotel, which is at issue in lower-court cases challenging the constitutionality of payments to Mr. Trump’s companies.
"At this highly divisive political moment, especially as many Trump decisions are likely soon to reach the court’s docket, one just days later, a healthy respect for public confidence in the court should have led Justice Gorsuch to demur," he said.
Justice Gorsuch declined to comment, said Kathleen L. Arberg, the Supreme Court’s public information officer.

I didn't like this guy before based on the Hobby Lobby case he presided over
Now I don't like him even more for the ethical conflicts that I feel are obvious and blatant

Basically he knows it looks bad, he just doesn't give a shit.
Thanks to Mcconnel, why should he give a shit? the senate basically pushed him through over all objections from the minority party just to put something on trump's win board. He's appointed for life, and doesn't have to give 2 shits about objections, democrat, republican or otherwise now. the other justices can't force him to recuse himself either. He can go out on stage with trump and say "I'm gonna side with everything he wants from now on GG fucktards" and nothing will happen to him.
yes the senate can impeach him, but then you'd have ~50 senators awkwardly discussing how they believed he was fit for the job before, now he's not, something that would be politically disastrous for the republicans. supreme court justices probably have an even higher bar to clear for an impeachment and removal since their jobs are extremely limited in scope, unlike a president

I think you very clearly pointed out grounds for impeachment directly in your own post. If he were to go out and say something as stupid as "I'm gonna side with everything he wants from now on GG fucktards" I think that would make a few senators have a change of heart on whether or not he is still fit for the job.

In this current political climate? I strongly doubt that even something on that level would make people wake up and snap out of it.

Gorsuch could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue then say he was legally obligated to because being a Supreme Court judge is quote "totes like that movie Dredd" unquote, and three days later polls will show 37% of Republicans Somewhat Agree with his actions.
We are well past the point of "ethical questions".
I have seen enough many people admit that they are willing to accept WH statements as pure fact that there is nothing people will put up with that surprises me anymore.
Well there was one thing

I read an article by newsweek that suggested since the democrats have 46 + 2 independents that would likely vote in lockstep with one another, only 6 more votes would be needed for impeachment. That doesn't sound like a insurmountable number to clear.
