Is there a reliable Blu-Ray Media Player for the PC or Codec for WMP?

Right, so. Pretty straight forward. I have blu-ray movies on my computer that I want to watch, but I can't. At least, not well. Right now I'm using VLC to watch them and the videos lag, hitch up, and stop playing a lot for no apparent reason. At first I thought it was when lots of things were happening at once but it happens when almost nothing is going on too.
So, pretty much. I need a reliable (and free) media player capable of playing Blu-Ray movies that won't lag and hitch up like that. OR A codec for WMP (latest version)
Please and thank you :h:
I don't think there is because Blu Ray has so much DRM.
VLC plays it though. I just want a player that won't lag to shit when I try to watch a movie though
do NOT USE VLC
It uses shitty internal codecs (and it doens't even support VC1 with an error message saying it doesn't ever plan to).
not to mention the reduction in quality and awful colours and black levels
download and install the Combined Community Codec Pack, preferably the 09-09-09 version since the newest one doesn't work with dts-hd off the bat
then play it in media player classic (that comes with cccp)
hey presto
Thanks I'll give that a try.

The only one I can find is the 2010 version. Why can't I use that exactly?

Nevermind. Got it.
I tried a bunch of different methods. Best one I found was PowerDVD. My laptop came with it so I gave it a go, and it's pretty much the best Bluray solution. It's not free, but oh well. Do consider saving up for it and getting it.
PowerDVD is a piece of shit it's hardly the best blu-ray solution
Not going to spend money for Blu-Ray anything. I don't believe in it. Only reason these are blu-ray is because my uncle gave me to them and I didn't wanna turn down free movies.
The CCCP worked great. Thanks Rusty
naturally, im always right
but you still have to use anydvd for decryption which costs money which some people don't care to spend

It's the best if you set it up properly (that is, disabling bloatware with .bat files, etc.)
Guys this isn't an 'argue the validity of <insert media player>' thread. I got what I needed so let this die.
