This is the first time I made something in Photoshop.

Please give some constructive criticism.
Ok I'll be honest I did use a tutorial mostly to create the room illusion.
It's alright. I don't like how you applied the scratchy filter to everything though.
I did that so I could get depth. It wasn't suppose to be on the water though.
better than most people's firsts.
I updated the picture a bit. Need to find something to let the clock blend in now.
I like it. It's quite surreal. Reminds me of a Magritte painting. One small gripe is that the water/floor looks a bit too solid. At first glance it looked like blue colored wood.
I really like the texture effects on the wall, but I agree with the above post about the water.
Unless it's just a box room floating above a body of water, even then at least a small hint of the walls sinking/touching the water should be present (just to show that it's transparent water and not a solid floor)

I see. I'm trying that right now but I think I have to start over to make it work.
Mhh, looks good. Nice to see someone putting some effort into their first photoshop experiments.
Looks good.
Like it.
Make more! I'd love to see more of your work.
Woah, very nice, I wasn't expecting that kind of picture for a first time ! I think it's creative and was nicely done.
Good job.
Coming into to this thread I expected to see something really crappy, but I have to admit I like it a lot.
Looks awesome, though the center-justified composition bugs me a little.
also the whole walls sinking into water thing is a good idea
now that you seemed to have fixed the scratchy texture (did you?) it looks fantastic.
I like it, great for a first Photoshop. Although you should have mentioned you followed a tutorial, I remember giving this a go when I tried to get into Photoshop a while a go.

Looks the same as always, you just became grunge blind.

you sure? the water doesn't look raped by that texture as much

Yeah, I did use that. I use the tutorials to learn what the tools and stuff are used for. Though the waves brush has been deleted, so I couldn't really finish it so I tried to add some stuff myself.
I like it. It's better than a lot of people's first photoshop things, from what I've seen lurking around art forums.
Here, I made this in a few minutes, It is crap, But you get the point. Look at the reflections. Guess how I did them. Tip, I used a lighten layer style.

This is how you fail and use the quick way out.
