[sp]its on the on-disc dlc[/sp]
I wish they'd put in a hardcore survival mode. The original game (when it was in development) had the actual air temperature in the game affect certain things (like how fast you consume T-Eng, the colder it was the more would be depleted over time to warm your suit or fuel your harmonizer or VS).
I think Lost Planet would work really well as a survival sim similar to games like Lost in Blue. You;d have to manage your body heat, your energy, keeping yourself fed, scavenging for weapons/ammo/parts to fix your VS.
Edit: forgot that the air temp thing was taken out before release, you can find older screenshots where there was an air temp reading on the hud.

Lost Planet 1 was hard as fuck on the hardest difficulty simply because T-Eng got consumed insanely fast. Piloting a VS was a no no because T-Eng drained at lightning fast speeds.
Yeah. I still wonder how I finished that game on the hardest difficulty, especially on the sections where VS use was mandatory.
I'm reserving judgement until the game comes out though, but I'm getting flashbacks of what happened the last time a western dev got to make a game in a Japanese franchise. (RIP in piece Front Mission)
I really wish they'd change his face to look more like the cg trailer, currently if you look at him from the front his eyes are waaay too far up his head compared to everything else. I can't believe the devs haven't noticed this.
