I have being learning the drums for a few weeks now but would like to know what drums would be good for a beginner.
The cheap ones. :P You don't really need a set with good sound in the beginning, so it doesn't really matter what set you get.
Okay thanks.
A basic package kit. It's best to really know if you want to play drums for a long time before you throw your cash around on expensive cymbals and hardware, etc.
Where about are you from? I assuming you use dollars so you might wanna spend say between $500 and $1000 for a decent kit. $1000 might be a bit to much though.

buy second hand. you can easily buy a used (semi-)pro set for the same price of a beginners set. I can't believe people actually buy kits like pearl "sound check" just because they are cheap and say pearl. basically if you bought a new pearl forum you could have used that money to buy a second hand pearl sessions (progressor of the masters), these are touching the pro drums line. I bought my pearl DLX for 600 euros total, (about as much as a new forum kit, little less actually), it had all the hardware i needed, and beginner cymbals, wich i played until i had the money to upgrade them, this kit was high-end back then, and it still is.
Pearl Soundcheck or used Pro Set.
Go second hand. Got my kit second hand and it is pretty decent. Although some of the skins do need replacing.
Im from England, today i went down to my local music store and the guy offered to sell me his old 7 piece peal drums for £400.

Yea there in good condition, going back again tomorrow to pick them up.
You can never go wrong with a nice set of Pearl Visions.
