Had the same computer for 5-6 years, was cutting edge wen i got it with the release of SLI and shiz. Hasent been changed since bought. Need a way of giving it a little kick without too much cost. Any ideas?

Your videocards, and your processor is probably due for an upgrade.
You also would probably need another mobo, unless yours has a PCI express 2.0 slot in it, which I'm guessing it doesn't.
I don't think you're going to get much more mileage out of that rig.
Post a speccy screenshot, if you would.

Your system seems to need a full overhaul. I'm guessing your motherboard is AM2, not AM2+ so you will probably need to replace that along with the cpu and graphics.
Well ... For an old computer I think I had a good run, Was happy to see crysis work on the thing.
I think i got it between sli and AM2 ... its socket 939. Not many more options got released allthough the AMD FX is about (I think thats what its called).
I'm pretty sure it dont have PCI-Express 2
If i take out the 512 ram running at 166mhz and leave in the 2 X 512 running at 200mhz would that pick up the speed, even though im 512mb down?

there's no way upgrading that will be in any way worth it, it's just a waste of money that could be gong towards a new system
Don't upgrade. Save for new pc.
A quick cheap upgrade, buy a new set of 4GBs of RAM.
Ok, new plan. Sell stuff and/or myself for new computer, Thanks guys
Be sure to make the computer yourself, not just buy a pre-built.
Thats what that thing was ... pre built would have cost £1500 - £1750 ... it cost just over £1000 in the end with a moniter and everything.
