I do personally love discussing politics, I try to keep my mind as open as possible, about politics but I don't take it very easy on narrowminded morons who believe that discussing politics means bashing everyone elses beliefs.
Anyway, I do not know any other forum that has such a high quality rate on It's posts, due to the old very tough set of rules I believe most of the people behave quite well indeed, so I do actually think that this is the perfect forum for discussing politics in.
So my question is, is there anyone else who would like a political subection here on facepunch?
The politics forum has to be made on a set of very strict rules though, you can not bash anyones beliefs without an explanation etc etc.
What do you guys think?
politics are for old ppl

politics control your life. You should show some interest
I would agree but the ban rate coming from such a subsection would be astronomical.
shibbypwwalkk loves boxes.
no i control my life not politics
no i control my life not politics
So you controll wheter or not you get free school?
If your children will have free healthcare or not?
No, you alone can not controll that.
And that's where politics come in.

Strict rules mate, strict rules.
Strict rules and enthusiastic MODS.
Hell the old custom forum system somewhat worked
not massive since most of fp can't vote
I would probably hang there a lot if there was one, because I'm cool like that
lankist will just try to troll it with long posts that no one reads
In the first day of this subforum, everyone would be banned.

There's plenty of politics threads about in which most people seem to avoid being banned

That's because the rules of GD and News aren't too strict.

Well if that's the case, why don't we just hijack OIFY and discuss politics in there? :v:

Yeah despite what the OP says a politics forum would have to have pretty lax rules lol
It's not a good idea only the same people would post in it, that's dumb
Hell the old custom forum system somewhat worked
Custom forum was pretty hidden, you had to pretty much look for what you wanted to find.
I want it to be part of the main forum, as in either subcategory in general discussion or well. a whole own part of the forum with it's on subsections.
Maybe there should be some account criterias for posting, as in account must be older than 7 days (yes, I do know you can make several accounts and wait 7 days but this works well on other forums so why wouldn't it here?
No alt accounts, we do not want same person backing up himself etc etc.

you sound twelve with your lack of punctuation an capitalization.
A politics forum would be good as a Custom forum, or some small one. Definitely not a subsidiary of the GD.

I believe that such an important topic as politics deserves more attention and exposure than a simple custom forum.
Just by viewing the forum would educate people and raise there understanding for how different people have different views on politics.
