Now an academic at St Andrew's University is trawling through 1,000 eye-witness accounts since to see what they can tell us. He wryly notes more than a few hotel proprietors among typical spotters. So is "Nessie" just a conspiracy to boost tourism?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-22125981 Short answer, yes, along with bigfoot.
BREAKING NEWS: Betteridge's law of headlines confirms Nessie to be real!
Nessie is real! Just like Santa Claus!
Unbelievable.
Loch Ness is still a lovely place to visit, monster or no monster.
No shit, sherlock
Slow news day?
It's pretty amazing that people actually expected to find a huge monster in a scottish lake
It's pretty amazing that people actually expected to find a huge monster in a scottish lake
People expect that kneeling before a wooden door that has a random figure that kind of looks like Jesus will have a beneficial effect. People expect that hiring a moron to move furniture randomly around their house will have a beneficial effect. People expect that eating random herbs from some Asian country will all of a sudden cure all their ailments. People are stupid.
Everybody knows it's not real, even the guy who faked the pictures admitted it. The only reason we get these news is because somehow the articles get a lot of hits. It's pretty blatant it's only for tourism, which is a shame because the countryside is fucking beautiful, you don't need a monster to attract tourists.
IT'S REAL DON'T DENY IT!
So this is where we attempt to pack the most agreeable opinion one after another on what is real and what isn't? Well let's just say, we do have some species on this planet which still amaze me with their existence. Loch Ness isn't one of them.
It's pretty amazing that people actually expected to find a huge monster in a scottish lake
I think that is a part of the fun really. Let people have their fun, i know most people are going to make fun of the "Believers" because they simply believe in something - no fun allowed. Its kinda like going to a castle or some area because it is "paranormal."
I want it to be real
I believe its real
BREAKING NEWS: Betteridge's law of headlines confirms Nessie to be real!
Nah, Nessie's just not a tourist conspiracy, but a regular old conspiracy.

I've had too many encounters to not believe it.
Well if Nessie isn't real, how come I went to a museum with a 20 minute informative film about the monster when I visited Loch Ness?

A friend of mine that lives near the Lake told me that the sights always happen just before holiday season. very convenient for hotel owners I'd say
