• Upgrading to a real set of speakers

So I currently have a set of logitech x530's with a creative sound blaster audigy se sound card and want to upgrade to a decent 2.1 setup rather than a poorly setup 5.1. I don't know much about speakers so could I have some recommendations? The only speakers that I know of are the Bose acoustimass 5. I'm looking at getting: - Speakers - Sound Card upgrade (?) - Do I need a amp or something that connects the speakers to the PC? Budget is around £400~
I would say get a Z-5500(5.1), If you watch a lot of movies try to find a Logitech Z-Cinema, If you like music a lot try Altec Lansing's FX3022, And the Edifier S330D is a good 2.1 set, I have one Z-5500 and like it very much, the bass is rather big so make sure you have room if you are thinking about one. Bose companion 3 I used to hate bose, but since I got these speakers for 100 dollars, it was worth it. They sound great and are compact enough for my dorm.
Klipsch Pro media 2.1 Jamo p 102 Posted this in a simillar thread a while ago. another vote for klipsch promedia 2.1 theyre probably the best out-of-the-box 2.1 set for a reasonable price

I'd ebay for some quality speakers and then spent £100'ish on an amp. I tried myself but I got lazy. :v:

Logitech is more pretty.
I don't know, I can never think of those silly tiny bass units and satelite speakers as propper speakers. I always think of something like this.
Lol that must blow your neigbours away. For the small room that I am in they do just fine.
