I'm looking for a midi controller for a) making music and b) playing piano (much easier and more convenient than going to the other floor of my house to play the real piano) It has to be 88-key as said in the title, it has to have weighted keys (playing piano properly is hard as hell without them) and it has to be fairly cheap. I'm not going to state a price or anything because I don't really know the price range of midi controllers. What do you guys recommend? And is a good sound card essential for composing music with a midi controller? If so, what sound card do you recommend (preferably not really expensive gamer sound cards) Thanks in advance :)

[quote]The M-Audio Keystation 88es USB MIDI Keyboard Controller gives you great-feeling, semi-weighted action. The velocity sensitive keys convey all the nuances of your playing to your computer. The pitch and modulation wheels plus slider and buttons make it a great controller for playing and programming synths, samplers, drum sounds and more. At just 22 pounds, the Keystation 88es is equally at home on stage and in the studio. Class compliancy with Windows XP and Mac OS X ensures easy plug-and-play setup. It's even bus-powered, so one simple USB cable is the only connection you need.

Looks decent, rated 4.5/5 stars on MF. Decent price as well.
Wow that looks way too big to fit on my desk, I guess It's not really practical to play piano with one.

I got a M-Audio KeyRig 49, it's similar to this but smaller, very nice very satisfied with it.
I got an integrated sound card on my motherboard and it seems to work fine. It's USB plug and play so all you do in plug it in and, if necessary, install drivers that come with it
