"I came into work a couple of days ago to ... (learn that) ... maggots have been growing inside of it. As you would expect the machine was shut down right away and cleaned."
The e-mail went on to explain that even after the cleaning, maggots continued to grow inside the machine ... adding, "The regional manager was contacted and her response was the machine must be kept on and we must continue to sell our specialty coffees."
http://www.wzzm13.com/news/article/131064/2/Maggots-gone-from-coffee-maker-owner-of-Michigan-McDonalds-says?odyssey=obinsite
How the fuck can the regional manager tell them to sell contaminated coffee?? I think there's a lawsuit at hand here.

Capitalism. Also the fact that McDonalds has no soul.
Did a friend of yours drink it?
Ah, nothing like the ole corporate greed
It's important to note that at no time did the area of the machine in question come in contact with the beverages
I mean.. still gross, but not quite as bad as it sounded, IF they're telling the truth.
maggots add flavor
yum

I'm sure McD's wouldn't actually sanction this. But you never know..
Everything bad is happening in Michigan apparently.

Way to chew up media bias. Everyone knows sad/angering/scary stories get views and ad revenue (and FP ratings)
" we must continue to sell our specialty coffees."
ahahaaha fuck off

great, people can now drink coffee from mcdonalds knowing that maggots were inside it
thanks mcdonalds!
Reminds me of the time I was told my local McDonalds had maggots in their ketchup dispenser by someone who worked there... that's why I don't go there anymore :v:
I doubt anybody goes to McDonald's expecting sanitation and healthy food.
Surprising, but still. McDonald's has nothing to lose anymore.

McDonald's are a helluva lot more sanitary than some of the alternatives; the cleanliness of the store is purely dependent on the management, and if the store gets demerits, the higher ups are quick to get rid of him to avoid a lawsuit or unneeded media attention. Look at what happened after Fast Food Nation and Super Size Me.
Not to mention, the guy who tried to authorize it is not a higher up, and is likely getting fire.
I understand, and that is a good point, but what I mean is that in the public eye McDonald's isn't necessarily 'fine cuisine' anymore.

Fast food has never been considered 'fine cuisine' by anyone.
how did maggots grow in the machine in the first place?
mcdonalds hot mochas rule

It can be high quality and cheap if you go to the right places.
THe last time I went to my local mcdonalds I saw 3 flys on top of the coffee machine.... I don't drink their coffee(or eat most of their food) but still I wonder.
Ah, nothing like the ole corporate greed
Yeah, because government owned establishments are known for their cleanliness and work ethic. /sarcasm
It might not be "fine cuisine" but theres still no excuse to have maggots around the fucking food and drinks, i hope this regional "manager" is sacked.

No no but it's got coffee AND milk at the same time don't u understand??
I pity the poor mac donalds worker who cleaned that coffee machine, it was as hell was not the manager.
I've worked at McDonald's for 7 months now, and stuff like this is rare, all of the stores in my region are vigorously cleaned and inspected quite often. I'm amazed something like this can go on so long. I will add however, that my regional owner (she's a franchisee) is a fucking penny pincher and would probably do the same thing as this person.
In related news, this guy could really go for a McCafe right about now.

The only food I can eat from McDonalds without getting the McShits is their breakfast menu.
Mmmmmm hashbrowns
The only thing I ever buy from a Mc Donalds are ice creams!
That sure is one slimy manager.
She sure dug her own grave in this business now.
breakyourfac is full of shit
