About a week ago I unintentionally ingested LSD. However recently sleeping and general day to day events such as work have become strange and almost surreal.
Its hard to put a finger on how I feel, off color to put it lightly. I've been having strange convoluted thought patterns which usually lead to a cycle of anxiety and small amounts of depression.
What gets me the most, is prior to having half a tablet snuck into my food, and subsequently tripping on LSD, I was a perfectly functional person with no issues what so ever.
Is this normal for someone to experience these after effects of LSD. Is this the effects of a 'bad trip' ?
I would say it's probably not too common. There are also many disorders that can develop after LSD such as HPPD.
Well, someone tried to poisoning you... Because giving an active drunk in a food to someone who don't know it's a food it's very dangerous. Imagine: if you're allergic to LSD you may die...
Happy to see you're still there. But where did you get your food? A friend did it for you? In a fast-food?
PS: Also, was it it food? ^^
these are totally normal, in fact I'm having those right now.
last time I did a lowish dose, something like 150ug, and it went away within a week.
this time I did a higher dose of 450ug and after half a week they're still as strong as they started but they should end soon.
but dude, whoever slipped acid in your food is quite the asshole because you should be able to choose yourself to trip.
Well I'm still feeling these effects after a week, so i'd expect to be back to normal say within two to three weeks ?
And yeah I have him a handful the following day, fuckin' asshole.

Ahh thanks, but I'm fairly certain I dont have HPPD. I doubt it since it was (technically) my first (unintentional) time.

It's called perceptual shift. You experienced something that changed the way you perceive the world, it's not uncommon for people who do psychedelics. You're completely fine, just embrace it. You'll eventually adapt and not see it as so surreal anymore.

Yeah, you won't even notice it with time. Just relax.
well how big a dose did you get? in microgrammes not in tabs, because the doseage probably influences the time it stays with you.
I couldn't tell you. Guy who spiked me said "Half a tab". Dosage is anyone's guess.

OK, thanks allot dude, cheers to everyone. Feel heaps better now.
The worst thing you can do with the effects of LSD is to alienate them, instead of trying to learn from them. If you feel uncomfortable at your workplace, it's probably not because 'LSD made you feel bad', but because it revealed some issues that you need to deal with. If something seems surreal, it probably is - superficiality, egoism, strange and usually unnoticed patterns of behaviour in general are stripped naked by LSD. That is not a bad thing, unless you refuse to accept the 'new point of view', if you will, that's when you start to feel like you're going insane.
OP, it seems that you're experiencing either depersonalization or derealization. It will go away with time.
LSD hangover
The only thing I notice after taking LSD is that the next day is boring and blah. I don't get any 'flashbacks' or any of those other symptoms.
OK thanks for the help guys, one last thing. Is it common to have chest pressure and light pain ? I'm amusing this is attributed to anxiety relating to the LSD.
Thanks DR. Facepunch.
I'm no LSD expert but p sure LSD wouldn't cause that.
Acid can definitely leave you with body pains. Take some b vitamins and maybe 5-htp. B vitamins are essential though. Usually works wonders for me. You'll get better. :)
Maybe the aftereffects are just different from person to person, or they're perceived differently. Personally, every time I take acid, I have a ricockulously amazing afterglow for like a week afterwards. Total inner peace, personal acceptance, complete absence of worry or regret. It's half the reason I get fried from time to time
It can go either way for me, to be honest.
idk about you guys but I've been talking to elves every day since the first time I dropped acid

Does anyone else find this post hilarious?
Try not to think about it, don't look for problems that could be unrelated and blame the LSD just try to forget about it for a few days and maybe everything will go back to normal once you get it off your mind

Must be possible, speed pills also gives me pain in the throat, it almost feels like that my throat is getting ripped in piece. Must be lack of water.
Op, lots of water and vitamin B complex, i bough a bottle of them to feels better on a after effects, but also to help with lucid dreaming.

Pretty normal. After ingesting the cid I constantly think about the government taking over,
china brainwashing us with products, poison in the food and water. Just don't think about that shit all the time. Just gotta take life easy.

As someone with depersonalization disorder, I can say that the effects can be increased, altered, or decreased by drugs. It sounds like this may be what you're experiencing OP. You should do what many in this thread have said and embrace it. Every time I have gone through a period of depersonalization it has been during a time of major change and personal growth in my life, and I am sure with your trip you can learn incredible things about yourself and the world around you.
i thought my 'after effects' would go away but here im, a year later. Time has helped though, when the after effects were the strongest, it was like i was on a trip without doing any (floors & curtains melting and colors blending with each other on walls). Now the effects are mild, but if i focus too much on something, say a piece of text in monitor, the words will begin to jump, wobble and stretch. Not that bad compared to the first two months.
I wish I had researched this stuff more carefully.

how did you get depersonalization? how long was it? what was it caused by? also, are you taking any meds for it?
i'm currently 'suffering' from it too. i've had it for about 3 and a half months and it's chronic, though sometimes not that severe, especially when i'm talking to friends/am distracted.
i don't mean to bash weed, but it's known that in RARE cases weed can cause depersonalization. i'm one of those unfortunate fuckers. i got way too stoned once, had a panic attack and the next day i experienced depersonalization for the first time. i didn't know what it was until a couple of weeks ago.
i went to a doctor about it and he said to work out/do some jogging and eat healthy. he said if it doesn't go away/improve in the next couple of months, i should come back. the next day i went to a therapist to get a second opinion on it. she said the same thing and to stop thinking about it, since stressing about it only makes it worse (it really does). also, i can confirm that a good sweat at the gym + good nutrition made me feel better within a week.
so yeah, i hope i feel better soon. if not, i talked to someone on reddit who got it from weed also, got it treated (got an srri antidepressant prescribed called cipralex) and it went away in 4 days, but he had to take the antidepressant for another 8 months or so.
also, op, it does sound like you have a case of disassociation, and it can be cause by psychadelics (again, in rare cases). don't stress about it. it gets better, and if it's not improved in the next few months, go talk about it with a doctor.
also, i smoked weed while i had it, and it did make it worse for me, so i'd recommend staying off any mind altering substance.
again, i'd like to say that i'm not bashing weed. i'm just unfortunate, since it's simply not my drug. but tbh, if i had known this could happen, i would have never touched weed.

I've always had depression but the depersonalization has started in the last year and a half. After a experience similar to yours and the OP's (a panic attack after unexpectedly getting WAY too high my third time) I really started to notice the symptoms more, but they were certainly present in the months before I first smoked. Like I said in my earlier post, these past two years I have had huge changes in just about every aspect of my life, and I think this directly ties in with the depersonalization. I also find that when tired it can be much more pronounced. Unfortunately I have terrible sleep habits, and usually get about seven hours of sleep a night.
What was really surprising is that the first time I really "felt" it, I actually really liked it. That probably has something to do with the fact that I've loved nitrous (a dissociative) since the first time my dentist put the mask on when I was only 13 years old, my first experience with any psychoactive. It seems that the sort of trance one can enter is a normal result of either relaxation or focus, and I believe comparisons to meditation would be extremely accurate. Obviously my views on the state are those of someone who understands what is happening and is predisposed to enjoy it. For someone that is uncomfortable feeling like they are living in a dream, my only advice can be to get lots of sleep so that you feel fully awake, and to understand that it is a natural action of the mind. Personally, I have been able to think about the abstract and analyze things like books or movies in a way I never would have thought possible before my experiences with drugs and depersonalization, so I choose to view it in a positive light.
tl;dr I've been wanting to write about this for a while. Just RELAX
There might be some errors in there I added in quite a bit after writing it the first time.
RAINBOW VISION FOREVER! but really, I see a lot of multicolor pixels in my vision when I'm baked. Prolly from LSD

i've had dreams like that, but doubt it's the same as what you're experiencing

I have always had tons of static in m vision, even before drugs. Does that mean I might be at risk for HPPD if I try psychs?
Idk, I think I've always had static, but after LSD, it looks like tiny rainbows when I'm high. But only if I focus on it.
I've also tripped around 6 times, never taking more than 2 tabs of good lsd, and smoking pot profusely on it. Idk how bad flashbacks are for you....

So wait, is yours chronic (as in is it always there)?
You say you enjoy it, which is weird for me. I really want to snap out of it. I mean, I can still function alright, and it doesn't really affect my studying or anything, but I just don't like how things looks ALL the time. Usually it's not that strong, but I noticed that in the evenings, I can't have fluorescent lights on. It sometimes make it look especially dreamy. I just hate that.
To me, it doesn't feel natural, it doesn't feel the same, and therefore I want it to be back the way it was prior to smoking weed, so tbh, I'm gonna do anything I need to do to get rid of this.
Also, do you still smoke weed? I find that since I got dpd, and when I smoke, I just feel more depersonalized, and say, when sativas make my memory worse, it stays with me for like another week, I'm really forgetful. But my memory went back to normal after about a week.
