Hi I'm looking at buying a GTX 480 and would like to know what one is better.
ASUS GTX 480 Or EVGA GTX 480
Thanks.
the EVGA one is stock overclocked, but that's something typically covered by warranties. though, some people are still paranoid about overclocking, so if you're one of those people and a small amount of overclocking is worth $50AU, get the EVGA one, otherwise the ASUS one would be more cost efficient.
also isn't there anywhere cheaper to get these? i know australia is fucked in the ass as far as video cards go, but there's gotta be a better price than that, somewhere.
Not really, the cheapest 480 in the UK is about £312 which is just over 500AUD so it isn't too bad
Go for the cheapest.
You can overclock it yourself to the EVGA speeds for free.
With EVGA you can OC it yourself and still be covered under warranty, so it's not worth buying it pre-OC'd.
