It's been less than a day since SUPERHOT blasted into view with it's rapid-fire barrage of trailer, Kickstarter and stylish gifs. Already, it's hit the $100,000 target, and that means two things. Firstly, it's funded. Secondly, there are still 29 days for its developers to tempt the crowdfunding public out of more cash. You guessed it: stretch goals.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/375798653/superhot
Oh hey I remember this, was pretty fun, glad it got funded. SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT
stylish gifs
Atleast they admitted it.
We've all been good boys
am I the only one who thought it was a bit odd that a 120,000$ stretch goal was "Better animations"
am I the only one who thought it was a bit odd that a 120,000$ stretch goal was "Better animations"
No. They'll probably hire a professional animator with that extra money, AFAIK it's not cheap to hire the pros.
am I the only one who thought it was a bit odd that a 120,000$ stretch goal was "Better animations"
20,000 dollars for an animation job is actually relatively cheap when it comes to games even more so when you consider the amount of animations they'll probably be getting
Probably even mocap, professional mocap equipment can be pretty expensive.
someone pledged more than two grand. what the heck.
forgive my ignorance. just played the demo, holy shit that was trippy
someone pledged more than two grand. what the heck.
Dubai prince sure loves superhot.
am I the only one who thought it was a bit odd that a 120,000$ stretch goal was "Better animations"
not much odder than $200000 for a replay mode, which should be part of the base goal IMO
am I the only one who thought it was a bit odd that a 120,000$ stretch goal was "Better animations"
They're not going to pay animators with custard creams.
not much odder than $200000 for a replay mode, which should be part of the base goal IMO
He probably did that so people would shell out at least $200k. Kickstarter has been around long enough that people know how to squeeze money out of backers.
Soo i just played the demo. MUCH BETTER than i thought it would be.
He probably did that so people would shell out at least $200k. It's like setting a goal for half the game so you get some cash, then set a goal for what it would cost to make the full game, with stretchgoals in between.
I haven't been this excited for an FPS since Episode 2. SUPER HOT SUPER HOT SUPER HOT
Scumbag tactics. It's like setting a goal for half the game so you get some cash, then set a goal for what it would cost to make the full game, with stretchgoals in between.
I may have agreed if it weren't for the fact that these guys are practically shoe-ins for at least $300,000 anyway. They made their entire base budget in not even 5% of the time they set for themselves to reach it. Sure, there'll be some slowdown now that the base goal is met, but don't think for a second that this game wasn't going to hit $200,000 anyway. Remember, these are the same people who were the fastest-ever Greenlit.
woot, I loved every second of it. Well, besides the artsy thing at the end.
I played the demo and the novelty of the game sorta wore out fast for me.... I wish them luck, though.
woot, I loved every second of it. Well, besides the artsy thing at the end.
The end was... intriguing to say the very least.
It'd be awesome if they added a way to let you see how you played the level at full-speed.
Now there's hoping for a level editor for steam workshop as stretch goal.
It'd be awesome if they added a way to let you see how you played the level at full-speed.
There is going to be a replay mode at 120k dollars.
but I'm not a rapper
It'd be awesome if they added a way to let you see how you played the level at full-speed.
"So, the Replay Mode will allow you to rewatch the last level you’ve completed in real-time - which will probably make you feel even more bad-ass. We’re still looking into whether it should be first- or third-person and if we could also allow the players to save/import/export replays, or share them with other people. When we reach that $200,000 goal we’re going to make it as fun and easy to use as possible."
There is going to be a replay mode at 120k dollars.
200k [editline]15th May 2014[/editline]
200k [editline]15th May 2014[/editline]
That's complete bullshit imo.
That's complete bullshit imo.
why is that bullshit? dota 2 has that, seems like a reasonable reward. $120k is the better animation stretch goal.
yall be acting like its not gonna hit 200k
